Job Description:
Duties: Fidelity Investments Cloud and Strategic Development
(CSD) is a full service provider of Information Technologies to
support Fidelity business units and customers. We have an
opportunity for a Senior Software Developer for our internal cloud
offering, Click2Compute (C2C), focusing on Infrastructure as a
Service. Primary Responsibilities: • Act as a primary contributor to application design and
development for an internal IaaS Cloud platform. • Develop code to automate delivery of systems in an internal
and external cloud and ensure overall code quality and application
stability. • Identify potential development discrepancies and recommend or
implement modifications to others' code while staying within the
original project scope. • Recommend systems and technology to promote widespread
collaboration and a spirit of innovation. • Contribute to and promote a DevOps culture within Fidelity
Investments. • Collaborate with development and product management teams to
define technical requirements in order to ensure rapid delivery of
features and functionality. • Participate in the research and recommendation of appropriate
models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve solutions. • Contribute effectively at many different points in a project
life cycle as an individual contributor. • Promote software configuration management (SCM) and
development best practices within the team. • Work with IT Partners and the user community to enhance
usability and adoption. • Mentor junior developers on best practices in the areas of
software development, continuous integration and delivery, and
infrastructure automation; and serve as technical resource. • Investigate and recommend open source solutions for automation
and monitoring. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and three
(3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of
experience developing and supporting software within a continuous
integration, deployment and delivery environment; or,
alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent)
in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and one (1) year of
experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience
developing and supporting software within a continuous integration,
deployment and delivery environment. Also Requires: Demonstrated
Expertise (“DE”) delivering and provisioning
infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), including compute (virtual
hardware), network and storage service within the cloud, in a
continuous integration/deployment environment; DE writing Python
scripts to automate the infrastructure-as-a-services environment,
using Chef to automate configuration management, and developing a
user interface for the cloud environment using JavaScript and Ruby
on Rails; DE in Linux and Windows systems administration including
troubleshooting, and network and storage performance tuning within
a DevOps environment; DE integrating infrastructure-as-a-service
