Job Description:
Duties: As a senior team member work closely with the FPCMS Tax
group to add value to their operation by implementing day to day business
processing into application software. Work with both offshore and onshore
management teams to plan, allocate and report project progress for
components at sub- system level. Provide development leadership, technical
direction and guidance, training and mentoring to team members across multiple
sites. Clearly translate and communicate complex Tax systems concepts
to customers and business/systems analysts. Primary responsibilities: • Provide eTax application subject matter expertise to business
group • Maintain and enhance eTax application by utilizing an
understanding of US and International mutual fund Tax concepts, calculations
and their application in eTax. • Analyze department initiatives and identify new
opportunities. • Identify key application design issues (e.g. maintainability
and performance) and recommend enhancements/solutions. • Interact with business and systems groups as eTax
application Subject Matter Expert. This includes but is not limited to
participation in JAD (Joint Analysis and Design) sessions, software/hardware
upgrades, new Regulatory business requirement sessions, etc. • Participate in trainings and forums for knowledge sharing. • Ensure the group performs at the highest level and create
technical documents for knowledge-sharing to improve productivity and
reduce defects. • Work closely with Business Users, System/Business Analysts
and Project Managers. • Design, develop and provide maintenance support for complex
systems. • Implement new architecture and routine End-of-Life upgrades
to existing applications. • Conduct design and code reviews and recommend improvements
to coding process. • Evaluate and provide technical solutions to complex
application development problems. • Design new processes and procedures. • Integrate functional design with overall architecture to
support user requirements. • Develop programming guidelines/standards. • Provide Level 3 on call support for production and UAT
environment. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,
Engineering, Math or Physics (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) as well
as 5 years of experience in job offered or 5 years of experience developing
a Java- based, online tax calculation and reporting application.
Experience must include: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing a graphical
user interface in XML and JSP, as well as Java middleware including a
JRules calculation engine, within a Sybase database environment and a
tcServer application server on a Linux box; DE in batch cycle processing
using Control M, including writing UNIX and Perl scripts, within a
Sybase environment; DE gathering user requirements, and writing
business logic functionality and stored procedures within a tax calculation and
reporting application; DE coordinating/liaising with offshore and
