Job Description:

Duties: Serve as a member of the Fidelity Enterprise Infrastructure

Distributed Hosting team to provide service guidance and technology

expertise for the Enterprise Infrastructure Big Data Platform offering.

This will involve building a general purpose data storage, processing,

and analysis platform to be used by Fidelity’s IT professionals. The

candidate will be responsible for developing features, requirements, and

documentation for the Big Data program, which will provide a data hub

and a blueprint for integrating with existing upstream and downstream

technology solutions. Will utilize understanding of high availability,

disaster recovery, multi-site architecture, datacenter design,

virtualization, storage architecture, firewalls, load balancing and

network security.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work directly with developers, operations staff, architects and

business constituents to develop a service that will transform

Infrastructure at Fidelity

• Develop, support, and maintain the platform infrastructure and

application lifecycle

• Build and nurture relationships with Fidelity’s developer and

system administration communities

• Respond and provide guidance to early-adopters of the Big Data

platform

• Define and implement integration points with existing technology

systems

• Interact with and participate in open-source software

communities

• Participate in BigData Escalation On-Call rotation

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering,

Mathematics, or Physics (or foreign education equivalent) as well as

five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of

experience in Unix or Solaris systems administration. Experience must

include: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and supporting scalable

distributed systems within a Hadoop environment including Java and

Python programming and scripting within a financial services

environment; DE building and supporting systems infrastructure for UNIX

enterprise architecture within a financial services environment; DE

designing scalable ingest and streaming framework using Kafka within a

financial services environment; and DE deploying data integration tool

within a Hadoop cluster within a financial services environment.
