Job Description:

Duties: Participate in all phases of a project lifecycle for multiple

technologies as a member of the Personal and Workplace Investing Desktop

Platform technology team within Fidelity Investments, which is responsible

for the development and maintenance of desktop technology solutions

supporting Fidelity's Personal and Workplace Investments business.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the development of technical design solutions within the

team and perform software development activities.

• Design and architect actionable solutions as part of the

Representative Experience Platform strategy.

• Own the technology stack and architecture for multiple applications

and support their strategic movement.

• Review, identify and recommend opportunities to optimize,

consolidate, refactor, reuse, simplify and streamline all product aspects,

including software and infrastructure.

• Champion technology standards, development methodologies, and

related enterprise standards.

• Provide proactive technical assistance, oversight and mentorship to

development teams, aiding in resolving complex technical issues, fostering

re-use, design for scale, stability, and operational efficiency.

• Maintain effective relationships with managers and technical leads

for individual products as well as a strong relationship with business

partners.

• Create and maintain a library of reusable code artifacts created

specifically to improve time-to-market through reusable patterns and common

capabilities.

• Participate in design and code walk-thru activities to ensure

proper conformance with enterprise service design and composition best

practices.

• On occasion, address small groups on technical subjects or

demonstrate systems.

• Consult on development and delivery of a major component or project

deliverable for Call centers.

• Develop comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or

subsystems.

• Define and implement application level architecture and

participates in architecture design teams.

• Plans and coordinates project schedules and makes project

assignments for multiple projects.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering,

Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics

(willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of

experience in job offered or five (5) years of experience developing Thin

and Thick client and desktop Windows applications or, alternatively, a

Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science,

Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics or

Physics and three (3) years of experience in job offered or three (3) years

of experience developing Thin and Thick client and desktop Windows

applications. Also requires: Demonstrated expertise (“DE”) designing and

developing dynamic rich automation applications using Flex and Flash, and

Web Applications using HTML and JSP, Struts and Spring Framework; DE

programming in .NET, Java/J2EE, XML, PL/SQL, and C#; DE writing desktop

applications according to WPF and WCF frameworks; DE designing and

developing call center Thin and Thick client and desktop Windows

applications.
