Job Description:
Duties: Participate in application development and
implementation efforts in a hands-on individual contributor role. Will meet regularly
with the project team, internal clients, upstream and downstream systems
teams, and infrastructure groups involved in the billing business and
systems processes. Perform implementation of business requirements
through the use of vendor products or internally developed systems. The products
being supported include Fund billing (7 internally developed
applications) and Client billing (1 vendor product). Primary Responsibilities: • Perform design, development, coding and testing of billing applications. • Translate business requirements into implementation plan
by considering all alternatives and implementing the best strategy
to ensure design meets performance, usability, reliability and
scalability requirements. • Participate in the definition of both functional and
non-functional requirements of a system and define the development strategy,
standards and support tools. • Provide Level 3 production support of existing products
and applications, and assist in the production support for Levels 1
and 2. • Research new technologies and make recommendations for
future releases. • Assist in providing technical direction in all tiers of an application. • Utilize familiarity with design and architecture of other
Fidelity products and programs, in order to make informed and
strategic recommendations for the product. • Partner with architects and development teams across the firm
to design and deliver solutions related to the product. • Write source Java/J2EE, PL SQL code, Javascript, adapt
existing components, and test the developed components as units creating
test stubs and test data as necessary. • Utilize understanding of the overall system architecture and
the impact of changes to the system. • Define and ensure compliance to standards and best practices
for all supported components, including change management, release
management, and source code control. • Use Hyperion SQR Reporting for creating/generating pdf files/reports and Java Swing for developing front end
components. • Assist in driving domestic and off shore development
engineers towards successful delivery of product releases. Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information
Technology, Mathematics or Physics and three (3) years of experience in job
offered or three (3) years of experience in software development, including
analysis, design, development, testing, maintenance and support of
Java-based enterprise and desktop applications; or, alternatively, a
Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science,
Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics or
Physics and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of
experience in software development, including analysis, design, development,
testing, maintenance and support of Java-based enterprise and desktop
applications. Also requires: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in object oriented
(“OO”) design and analysis, reading and writing UML diagrams
development, maintenance of Java based multi-tier architecture, and version
control management using PVCS/SVN; DE writing SQL queries, stored
procedures and triggers in an Oracle environment and database schema design,
and configuring/managing Weblogic and Tomcat application servers; DE
designing and developing financial billing applications using Agile /
Waterfall Methodologies, and data transmission using SOAP/RESTFul
Webservices; DE developing Java-based online transaction processing applications
to automate and support investment portfolio billing operations
including, design of business rules and application flow, UI development
using Adobe or Java Swing, and report/file development using Hyperion SQR
