Duties: Fidelity's Enterprise Infrastructure Web & Data Services

organization is a full service provider of information technologies. The

Data Engineering & Business Intelligence team provides full life cycle

Database and BI hosting services across Fidelity. The selected candidate

will work closely across the Fidelity Technology Group’s Enterprise

Infrastructure team and our business unit partners to perform Oracle system

DBA and Exadata DBMA assignments and projects. Will be focused on setting

up and maintaining Oracle RAC infrastructure along with ASM Grid in Exadata

and non-Exadata servers to support maximum availability of data to our

customers. Will be expected to design and manage complex database solutions

in a collaborative global team environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide database administration to Oracle RAC 11g databases running

on Unix/Linux servers in a Data Guard environment.

• Provide expert database machine administration to Oracle Exadata

Servers to support critical big data (10+ terabyte) databases.

• Install, configure and maintain Oracle database with required

patches and updates.

• Configure Physical Standby Databases using Dataguard Broker to

ensure high availability and integrity of customer data.

• Design Database Backup strategies using RMAN and collaborative tape

backup software.

• Use RMAN to restore and clone a database across different sites.

• Provide customer support to database and associated application

development team owners and user stakeholders.

• Monitor and optimize database performance and tuning using OEM Grid

Control.

• Participate in 24/7 on-call database support rotation.

• Collaborate with off-shore database team to provide database

support and complete customer requests.

• Perform database security management, user permissions and

privileges in accordance with application/database requirements.

• Schedule Database Backup, monitoring and other jobs using Cron.

• Ensure compliance is maintained with Oracle database license

agreement.

• Collaborate and provide guidance to customer teams for database

solutions.

• Provide schedule and resource requirements to stakeholders

concerning proposed changes to the associated database.

• Provide sizing recommendations for any new databases or changes to

existing databases including user/data growth projection and the impact on

the server memory and performance characteristics.

• Participate in meetings with development staff and stakeholders.

• Work with database administrators to ensure optimal efficiency and

optimization of databases server clusters back-up strategies and database

services to FAA and its customers.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Business Computer Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and three (3)

years of experience in job offered or three (3) years of experience in

Oracle database and database machine administration (DBA and DBMA) of a

high availability multi-node multi-site server infrastructure including

database architecture, systems administration and production support; or,

alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Business Computer Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and one (1)

year of experience in job offered or one (1) year of experience in Oracle

database and database machine administration (DBA and DBMA) of a high

availability multi-node multi-site server infrastructure including database

architecture, systems administration and production support. Also

requires: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) in design, implementation, support,

monitoring and performance troubleshooting of standalone, high availability

and disaster recovery infrastructure deployments of Oracle database servers

including Oracle Real Application Clusters(RAC), Grid Infrastructure,

Oracle Exadata, Oracle ZFS Appliance and OMS/OEM; DE in migration,

replication and recovery of data on multi-node (Linux, AIX, Solaris

platforms) multi-site Oracle 10g, 11g and 12c databases using: RMAN

Backup/Restore on CommVault, Continuous Data Capture(CDC), EMC’s Continuous

Data Protection (CDP), Symmetrix Remote Data Facility (SRDF) and Dataguard

Broker (DGB); DE in Operating and Storage systems support including

upgrading/patching, troubleshooting and monitoring (Oracle Enterprise

Manager) for Oracle Exadata, Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and Oracle

ZFS Appliance; DE creating IT Controls documentation for engineering,

validation processes, and standards for product build, migration, disaster

recovery, patching, high availability and OEM monitor configurations for

databases/storage/server administration.
