Job Description:
Sources, analyzes, integrates, and manages the distribution of
security, index, and portfolio data. Responsible for the
integration and quality management of security reference data.
Leads critical data management and process improvement initiatives,
including data certification efforts, consolidation of index
reports, automation of security reference processes, and transfer
on security reference data to global associates. Provides
instructions and guidance to business partners and data users on
Data Management Operations (DMO) policies and procedures. Provides
technical training on security reference data. Provides technical
expertise for new product development initiatives, including
performing analysis to determine impact of initiatives on business
functions and resources. Primary Responsibilities: Streamlines business processes by collaborating with leadership
to review and identify efficiencies and process improvement
opportunities. Ensures the integration, management, and distribution of
security referenced data. Actively interacts with internal and external data users to
resolve issues affecting data and how its distributed. Empowers team members to develop deep, ongoing and trusting
relationships with current business partners and potential
customers. Analyzes business needs and anticipates changes to the business
environment. Minimizes future issues by establishing data governance
procedures. Recommends solutions and best practices for data issues. Identifies and filters information from diverse and conflicting
sources to draw optimal conclusions. Provides instructions and advice to associates on complex issues
and critical engagement matters. Designs and formulates the foundation and structure of training
program for new hires. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Financial Services, or a closely related field and
three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years
of experience performing data feed, population, and management
processes within a master database containing analytic,
performance, and evaluative financial investment data. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Financial Services,
or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in the
job offered or one (1) year of experience performing data feed,
population, and management processes within a master database
containing analytic, performance, and evaluative financial
investment data. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) analyzing core financial investment
vehicles -- Common Stock, American Depository Receipts, Municipal,
and Corporate bonds -- to support the ongoing set up and
maintenance of investment data within Mutual Fund, Equity,
Derivative, and Fixed Income investment markets; and performing
data acquisition and maintenance of critical investment reference
data -- securities, issuers, corporate structures (hierarchies),
sub portfolios, industry sector/classification, broker, and data
structure attributes -- to support the complete investment life
cycle using master database management user interface
applications. DE analyzing and creating metadata requirements documents using
Informatica; providing product enhancements for complex data
challenges by gathering business requirements, and reviewing
internal and 3rd party data offerings, flow diagrams, and project
timelines; and coordinating and completing User Acceptance Testing
(UAT) and Integrated Testing Facility (ITF) to validate product
enhancements, identify defects within testing results, provide root
cause analysis, and identify potential solutions. DE managing investment reference data, and data structures and
relationships; performing data analysis -- developing,
implementing, and monitoring data quality processes to mitigate
data absences and discrepancies for product users, using SQL/SQL
Developer or R Studio; identifying automation opportunities --
employing statistical and quantitative analysis, and explanatory
and predictive modeling techniques -- to reduce risk and unlock
operational capacity, using SQL/SQL Developer and R Studio; and
leading scale and efficiency initiatives using Agile
methodologies. DE researching, analyzing, and validating investment reference
data offerings and applications of leading 3rd party providers --
Bloomberg, Refinitiv, S&P, and ICE; coaching and mentoring a
data management team -- providing career development guidance
including, issue resolution, client engagement, and policies and
procedures across a global staff; delegating and managing a teams
workload and adjusting to new or changing assignments, processes,
team structures, and priorities as business needs require; and
providing continuous guidance and training to less experienced
