Job Description:

Duties: As a member of the Unix Technical Services team, within the

Enterprise Infrastructure group, will support a Linux environment of both

Virtual and Physical servers, and perform system administration functions

including maintenance of systems, applications, LAN, WAN, network and

application security, event investigation, install upgrades/patches, and

troubleshooting of system performance issues.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, support, and maintain a Red Hat Linux/Oracle

Enterprise Linux operating system.

• Troubleshoot LVM file system issues.

• Perform automation using BladeLogic.

• Troubleshoot issues related to disk space and configuration.

• Resolve hardware and software integration issues by interfacing

with database administration, software development, network support

personnel, and vendors to coordinate solutions.

• Perform Operating System patching and migration, package

installation, and configuration changes under tickets.

• Develop resource allocation planning for systems management.

• Evaluate and participate in implementation of new systems.

• Coordinate with key executives to ensure quality customer service.

• Resolve business domain issues.

• Provide production level, on-call support for Linux servers.

• Identify improvement areas and implement adequate measures to

maximize customer satisfaction.

• Provide support to engineering team.

• Review customer requests and schedule change tickets.

• Liaise with customers to answer queries and resolve issues.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Mathematics or Physics and three (3) years of experience in the job offered

or three (3) years of experience in UNIX and Linux systems administration;

or, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Mathematics or Physics and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or

one (1) year of experience in UNIX and Linux systems administration. Also

Requires: Demonstrated expertise (“DE”) implementing and supporting

Veritas clustering solutions within single and multi-node configurations

using VCS, SF, SFHA, SFCFS, SFRAC, and GCO and file system management of

EXT3, EXT4, VXFS, and NFS; DE developing multi-pathing solutions for SAN

configurations using MPIO, MPXIO, and DMP; DE developing Templates and

Objects using BladeLogic for Audit and Remediation; DE writing Bash, Perl,

Python, Ruby scripts to automate Operating System functions.
