Job Description:
Builds and coordinates a team of onshore engineers responsible
for building, maintaining, and deploying Web, mobile, and IoT
offerings. Delivers, measures, and iterates on products and
features, using Test Driven Development (TDD), automation, and
DevOps concepts. Designs, contributes to, and consumes RESTful APIs
to deliver rich experiences. Sets technical direction for the
engineering team and defines architectural standards that reflect
the nature of mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) development.
Designs highly functional and scalable Web and mobile
infrastructures and applications. Analyzes information to
determine, recommend, and plan the installation of a new system or
modification of existing systems. Analyzes user needs and software
requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and
cost constraints. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or
function to provide business unit-wide solutions. Primary Responsibilities: Partners with other team leaders to develop comprehensive
technical strategies and roadmaps supporting a range of
products. Leads the delivery of large client implementations and corporate
action projects. Provides technical management of a portfolio of large-scale
projects using Agile methodologies. Provides direction and leadership for the team to ensure
development and completion of all critical project and program
documents. Collaborates with product owners and functional managers to
maximize productivity by maintaining backlog and release plans. Enables an Agile and frictionless organization by reinforcing
Agile behaviors and removing impediments to deliver value. Acts as an escalation point and facilitates resolution of issues
related to projects or work streams. Monitors individual and team progress -- coaches individuals and
teams. Assesses and determines project prioritization. Participates in strategic planning. Manages service activities or client relationships by defining
customer standards and service level agreements. Provides accountability for the financial management/budgeting
process. Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization. Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives. Provides leadership and expertise to multiple teams in broad
technical areas on complex organization-wide projects. Uses industry and competitor benchmarks to evaluate the overall
effectiveness of organizational/ technology structure, guiding
principles, and operating models. Provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members
for performance and career development. Assigns and reviews the work of systems analysts, programmers,
and other computer-related workers. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of
experience in the job offered or six (6) years of experience
designing and developing brokerage and trading transaction
processing applications for Web, mobile, and desktop platforms. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related
field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four
(4) years of experience designing and developing brokerage and
trading transaction processing applications for Web, mobile, and
desktop platforms. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) evaluating the overall effectiveness
of independent investment technology structure by analyzing best
engineering principles -- software longevity and scalability;
defining guiding principles and standards to ensure uniformity
across applications within independent and Personal Investment (PI)
domains; and working collaboratively with independent investment
business and vendors to define roadmaps and architect solutions for
information technology projects. DE designing and developing brokerage and trading transaction
processing applications for Web, mobile, and desktop, hosted on
Amazon Web Services (AWS); and leading and mentoring a team of
software engineers in a digital experience technology environment
on complex independent investment domain projects. DE designing three-tier client server architecture using Gliffy
and Draw.io tool to sketch Unified Modeling Language (UML),
roadmaps, sequences, and topology diagrams; developing brokerage
Web, mobile, and desktop applications, using programming and
scripting languages -- CSS, typescripts, and C#; developing
software applications, using Test Driven Development (TDD), Agile
methodologies, MVVM, and MVC, client/middleware design patterns;
and developing REST APIs using Light Weight Container (LWC)
framework. DE optimizing and developing DevOps setup using ClickOnce (for
desktop) and Jenkins, uDeploy, Dockers, and AWS (for hosting Web
