Job Description:
Duties: Serve as a member of the Application Database
Administration team within Fidelity PWI Production Support Services organization as
a senior level Oracle DBA. Will support the database administration tasks
on several key applications serving the PWI products. The Database
Operations team provides 24x7 database administration services for the PWI
core recordkeeping databases and applications and indicative
databases, which support products such as Fidelity.com and NetBenefits.
Database administration services are also provided for numerous Common,
Reporting, and Analytics databases such as the Integrated Data Warehouse
and Siebel (IDA, CWE) and several critical databases. This team partners
closely with all the PWI IT Production Operations team, FTG/Enterprise
Infrastructure teams, and PWI IT Development organizations to provide
efficient application rollouts and product stability and availability. Primary Responsibilities: • Provide technical database design support to PWI
engineering organization. • Design operational and transactional database solutions that
meet the functional and nonfunctional business requirements. • Implement database replication using golden gate. • Design three site models for mission critical application
database support. • Perform application database administration functions
including database performance tuning, database application design,
physical data modeling, and monitoring environment support • Work with development teams in database design process and
make suggestions/recommendations based on the application data
usage requirements. • Provide database expertise in all phases of SDLC. • Work with senior level business and technology partners to
define and implement database solutions that are aligned with the PWI
enterprise blueprint. • Interface with Technology Operations and infrastructure groups
to plan and manage changes in the production environment. • Review business data requirements, database designs and
database access code. • Ability to analyze complex database problems and implement solutions and/or workarounds • Database installs coordination and planning. • Evaluation and recommendation of new software tools and
product in database administration area. • Provide technical oversight for medium to large scale
database configuration, schemas, and space. • Rollout new application code / builds in various production
and non- production environments. • Performance tuning, problem research/resolution, code reviews
and deployments, Oracle SQL support, and data movement. • Perform 24x7 Production On call support on rotational
basis. • Open and follow-up on Service support tickets with Oracle
support. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer and Information
Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics or
Physics and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3)
years of experience in Oracle database administration; or, alternatively,
a Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science,
Engineering, Computer and Information Science, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and one (1) year of experience
in the job offered or one (1) year of experience in Oracle database
administration. Also Requires: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in Oracle 11g
database administration, including Oracle real application cluster
(RAC) implementations and Oracle Exadata solutions within a mission
critical asset management application environment; DE performing Oracle
database replication using multi master replication, Golden Gate and Data
guard, for mission critical asset management applications; DE
troubleshooting real- time mission critical database applications using Oracle
Enterprise Manager version 12c, and providing performance tuning and
optimization recommendations based on oracle AWR reports and system
diagnostics; DE implementing Oracle Security and access management features
including virtual private database, Oracle database auditing, and
password verification functions using external security tools including
