Job Description:
Duties: The Analyst, Fund Reporting is responsible for reviewing
the financial statements, regulatory filings, and other reporting
requirements for all U.S., Canadian, and offshore domiciled Fidelity funds to
ensure compliance with mutual fund accounting, general ledger
accounting, and regulatory reporting requirements. Collaborates with business
partners to ensure reporting deadlines are met. Participates in various
committees and projects to improve the controls, accuracy, and efficiency of
the reporting process. Primary Responsibilities: • Prepare annual and semi-annual shareholder reports in
accordance with the Investment Company Act of 1940, analyzing information
received from a variety of sources including the Fund Accounting audit
package. • Perform qualitative reviews of shareholder reports to
determine appropriate presentation and adherence to SEC, CFTC, OSC, and
U.S. and Canadian GAAP requirements to ensure published shareholder
reports are free of material misstatement. • Identify, analyze, coordinate, and participate in the research
of issues across funds and fund groups to determine the impact on
shareholder and other regulatory reports. • Review the audit package provided by ASET team, and
communicate with ASET regarding any open issue and questions. Identify
issues with the backup provided, especially with complicated process and
securities. Research problems and resolve issue. • Work directly with internal and external business partners (auditing, fund accounting, tax, and pricing team) to identify
and resolve issues during funds research. • Perform qualitative detailed review of quarterly portfolio
listings for ’40 Act and FIC funds. • Prepare monthly money market portfolio website listing and
N-MFP SEC filings to ensure accuracy of reporting and presentation in
accordance with regulatory guidance and Fidelity standards. • Prepare and review regulatory reports such as 24f-2 and Form
N-1A, and perform quantitative detailed review of Form N-SAR to ensure
compliance with regulations, consistency among filings, and to ensure that
filings are free of material misstatements. • Work within centralized teams in support of the financial
statement production process. • Participate in complex processes and assignments such as
REIT adjustments, Topic 820 pricing analysis, fund mergers,
in-kind transactions, fund liquidations, and liquidation audits. • Identify and assess risk and prescribe actions to minimize
risk regarding financial statement disclosure, the reporting process,
and the business. • Recommend controls for specific problems to ensure risk
and exposure are properly mitigated. • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with
internal and external customers and business partners to obtain necessary
information in order to resolve issues and ensure a smooth production
process. • Help to improve process efficiency, present innovative recommendations, and implement resolutions across the
department. • Work within centralized team to provide REIT and MLP
related adjustments and integrate into the production process. Answer
inquiries from fund teams and tax business partners. • Train new Associate Analysts, assist in problem-resolution for
the Associate Analysts throughout the financial statement process,
and assist the management team in identifying training needs. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or Accounting and Information Management
and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of
experience in mutual fund regulatory analysis and financial statement
reporting; or, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or Accounting and Information Management
and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of
experience in mutual fund regulatory analysis and financial statement
reporting. Also Requires: Demonstrated expertise (“DE”) performing mutual fund
analysis and regulatory reporting preparation and review for equity,
fixed income, money market, and exotic funds (REITs, credit default swaps,
written options, derivatives, in-kind transactions) for compliance with
SEC, CFTC, OSC and U.S. GAAP requirements; DE converting and reviewing
mutual fund general ledger data into financial statements and reports in
compliance with SEC Regulations S-X, using Sungard/InvestOne; DE in Form
N-SAR and Form N-1A reporting to the SEC using FUND Suite, and Form N-MFP
