Job Description:
Duties: Provide application software development, maintenance
and support primarily for the Service Manager, Service Now and xMatters
applications. These are enterprise applications servicing 20,000+ internal
customers providing incident, change and request management functions.
They provide critical on-call and notifications capabilities. This position
requires software development for both in-house and vendor products. Primary Responsibilities: • Design and develop software applications and participate in
all phases of the software development lifecycle - requirements
gathering, design, coding, testing and deployment of the functionality. • Translate business requirements into functional designs. • Develop program modules that meet detailed design
specifications (application, database, business requirements). • Perform systems analysis, infrastructure analysis and
design. • Assist in the planning, design and production of deliverables
and scope estimation. • Analyze existing software applications to optimize performance
and reliability. • Leverage best practices for software engineering. • Work with business partners and technical leaders on
solution design and cross-practice projects. • Perform testing of software and releases. • Perform implementation of changes and releases. • Perform application maintenance and support tasks. • On-call rotation to address applications and software issues
and outages. Rotation is 24x7 approximately once in 2 month
period. • Prepare documentation for requirements, implementation plans
and software reviews. • Present clearly to enterprise user groups and senior
management. • Code review for more junior staff. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and four (4) years of experience in the
job offered or four (4) years of experience developing web-based transaction
processing applications within an IT Service Management (ITSM) environment;
or, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and two (2) years of experience in the
job offered or two (2) years of experience developing web-based transaction
processing applications within an IT Service Management (ITSM) environment.
Also Requires: Demonstrated expertise (“DE”) developing Java web
applications according to open source frameworks - Spring, XML and Soap; DE
developing Java web applications that interface with Websphere and Tomcat
middleware with an Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL database backend; DE
designing, implementing, and customizing Service management functionality
-- Service Catalog, Notification Services, and P/I/C -- using HP Service
Manager, Service Now, and xMatters; DE in software development according
to Agile methodologies, including use of Atlassian JIRA tool for Q&A
