Job Description:
Duties: Serve as a member of the Global Data Services - Data
Management Operations (GDS DMO) team within Asset Management Operations
and Administration, which oversees the acquisition and distribution
of investment vehicles and Global Asset Allocation (GAA) products
by working with external vendors, internal Fidelity partners, GAA Portfolio
Services, and Asset Allocation Technology (AAT) support teams. Reporting
to the Senior Manager, will facilitate the timely and accurate data
acquisition as well as distribution to internal GAA business consumers. This
entails overseeing all ad-hoc requests, ensuring consistency and
accuracy of data across reports and tools, oversight of specific data processes,
and the execution of manual reporting and other validation activities.
Will work closely with colleagues from the GDS DMO team, GAA Portfolio
Services, AAT, and the GAA business teams. Will participate in projects of
various size and complexity, and adhere to the GDS Data Management Operations
governance model while participating in activities to effectively carryout
the data acquisition and distribution functions. Primary Responsibilities: • Ensure accurate and timely loading of the data into the
database. • Perform database queries to analyze and validate data. • Perform detailed data analysis to support changes to reports
and/or processes. • Respond to business questions and queries on the accuracy
and quality of the data. • Collaborate with the AAT team to resolve data issues and
relay requirements. • Assess critical nature of issues and escalate and/or
communicate to the management, as appropriate for timely resolution. • Develop understanding of data entity and attribute
relationships. • Participate in the project/portfolio metrics generation. Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent)
in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information
Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Finance or Business Administration and
three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of
experience in data engineering and data analysis of investment products and
securities trading data; or, alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign
education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, Finance or
Business Administration and five (5) years of experience in the job
offered or five (5) years of experience in data engineering and data analysis of
investment products and securities trading data. Also Requires:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in risk and exposure data analysis for impact
on business processes within a Fixed Income asset management environment,
including writing SQL queries to perform data analysis at the database
level in support of analytics related to investment products and asset
management operations and trading; DE supporting asset management –
research and stock selection -- including performing and building Java UI
frameworks to perform quantitative analysis, and building PL/SQL databases
structures to support portfolio construction (including writing SQL queries to
extract data and developing PL/SQL queries and Java GUIs for client
management reporting); DE performing profitability and revenue analysis to
measure portfolio investment performance and performing portfolio
benchmarking against industry and sector indices/performance; DE in data
management of mission critical, enterprise-wide financial data, including
support and operations management of data failures and training systems
teams on data latency at data integration points, including constructing ETL
processing jobs (using Informatica) to load data from multiple sources
(vendor flat files, XML, direct database access, web services) in support of
data provisioning activities in a transactional database
