Job Description:
Duties: Serve as a member of the Fidelity Enterprise
Infrastructure Global Network Engineering team with responsibility for providing
technical leadership in defining and implementing highly complex projects
that have a major impact on network and systems applications. Will
provide comprehensive network engineering, design, and consultation to
Fidelity’s entire global network infrastructure and diverse network
service offerings. Primary Responsibilities: • Develop original and creative technical solutions for
ongoing network engineering efforts. • Provide technical leadership in the execution of end-to-end
LAN/WAN engineering and solutions for Fidelity's diverse International
Network Services Backbone and large Data Center Network Fabric. • Assure all technical decisions result in coherent system
designs, which use the most effective methods and tools. • Determine technical approach at a strategic level. • Determine how specific technologies will be deployed,
accessed, utilized and phased-out. • Participate in Proof of Concept Workshops and meetings with
vendors to evaluate and assess current and future network architectures
and designs. • Certify new network technologies and create associated
supporting documentation in accordance with Fidelity standards. • Create project plans, blueprints, and frameworks of the
entire project phase that are in-line with current engineering best
practices. • Design and deliver large industry leading data center
network fabric and cloud solutions from the ground up. • Consult with business units on architecture and implementation
of complex network issues, software and hardware. • Interact with internal IT teams including server, storage,
and mainframe teams to ensure new data center fabric and cloud
solutions meet or exceed requirements and SLAs. • Tactical responsibility for completion and implementation
of multiple major initiatives. • Meet on-time and on-budget project goals. • Advise on risk assessment and risk management strategies
for projects. • Act as Subject Matter Expert to deliver know-how on diverse
range of network technical topics including but not limited to
routing, switching, load balancing, and security. • Proactively assess and monitor the environment and offer
solutions to increase network resiliency and capacity. • Adhere to Fidelity’s change management policies and procedures
for successful change implementations worldwide with no impact
to internal/external products and services. • Maintain in depth knowledge and understanding of company and
IT functional direction, strategy, operations, and products. • Develop and track accurate IT spending forecasts. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and five (5) years of experience in the
job offered or five (5) years of experience supporting network
infrastructure and engineering network solutions; or, alternatively, a Master’s
degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering,
Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and
three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of
experience supporting network infrastructure and engineering network
solutions. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in
data center network design within a Cisco, Juniper, and Citrix environment;
and design and implementation of TC/IP network protocols, including
implementation of sniffers and data access switches; DE engineering and supporting
data center fabric solution for private Cloud and Big Data enterprise
services using HP Comware 5 and 7 network devices; DE implementing
multi-cast network protocols for video transmission within a Cisco,
Juniper, Citrix and HP environment; DE in engineering and support of an
enterprise-wide global network service backbone, including analysis of
