Job Description:
Duties: Serve as a member of the Strategic Investment Platforms
and Data (SIPD) technology organization, within Workplace and
Institutional Services (PWIS). SIPD supports Fidelity's Managed Account products by
delivering cutting edge technology solutions across complex multi-system
platforms that support the Distribution of the Managed Account products.
This position will focus on the Managed Account Platform Portfolio
Advisory Services (PAS) solutions. Will be responsible for the analysis
of application issues, providing design/build/test for problem and
project assignments, and supporting the PAS Managed Account business and
their technology initiatives. Primary Responsibilities: • Provide technical solutions and develop strategies that
address business requirements. • Perform full lifecycle of software development including
analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and
planning. • Develop, test, debug, implement, and support
moderate-to-complex programs. • Participate in software application architecture and
design discussions. • Work with architects, and technology and business partners
to support and enhance a complex business rules engine. • Assist in the rapid resolution of production issues and
defects. • Perform unit testing and work with Quality Assurance to
test scenarios. • Assist in the planning of and conduct user acceptance
testing. • Ensure tasks and milestones associated with technical
design, development and unit testing are completed according to project
management guidelines. • Translate technical systems design to functioning code. • Create, update and maintain technical documentation. • Enforce development quality standards and best practices for
all supported components, including change management, release
management, and source code control. • Perform technical code reviews to ensure quality. • Resolve issues and validate programming requirements within
areas of responsibility. • Generate ad-hoc queries/reports from system databases. • Perform regression testing and other development related
tasks. • Translate technical systems design to functioning code. • Actively research opportunities to enhance performance and
reduce risk. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and three (3) years of experience in the
job offered or three (3) years of experience developing IBM Mainframe
applications to support portfolio advisory services and managed accounts;
or, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and one (1) year of experience in the job
offered or one (1) year of experience developing IBM Mainframe applications
to support portfolio advisory services and managed accounts. Candidate must
also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in mainframe
application architecture, design and development using COBOL, CICS, JCL,
SQL, Syncsort, and DB2 with Microfocus Rumba; and defining CICS System
Definition (CSD) entries programs, transactions and VSAM for the online CICS
regions; DE in software implementation, control, and versioning along the
full development lifecycle of post-production support, using Endevor
and data transfer processes using NDM, FTP and SFTP via Axway; and
developing batch jobs using IBM utilities (DFSORT, IDCAMS, and IEFBR14); DE
debugging online and batch programs using InterTest; DE in design, execution,
monitoring and optimization of business processes using Business Process
