Job Description:

Duties: Will serve as a member of the Fidelity Participant Recordkeeping

System (FPRS) Small Development Team. Will work with developers on all

aspects of the project life cycle; including requirements analysis,

functional design, technical design, programming, unit testing, system

integration testing, user acceptance testing and software implementation.

Will participate in direct communication with business partners throughout

the entire project lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide technical solutions and develop strategies that address

business requirements.

• Review functional specifications, create detailed technical design

and technical specifications, and oversee code development and unit and

performance testing activities.

• Ensure tasks and milestones associated with technical design,

development and unit testing are completed according to project management

guidelines.

• Conduct system and application analysis to proactively identify and

resolve application problems during development and/or support phase.

• Develop batch and online applications based on input from business

partners using best practices and participate in post implementation

reviews.

• Proactively identify and implement the best strategy to ensure

design meets performance, usability, and reliability and scalability

requirements.

• Conduct regression testing of the application at all phases of the

development process.

• Enforce development quality standards and best practices for all

supported components, including change management, release management, and

source code control.

• Develop test strategies, plans and test cases for projects within

functional area and responsible for the execution of test plans and cases

created.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Mathematics or Physics and three (3) years of experience in the job offered

or three (3) years of experience in mainframe, batch and online processing

application architecture and development; or, alternatively, a Master’s

degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering,

Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and one

(1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience in

mainframe, batch and online processing application architecture and

development. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”)

developing in a COBOL, DB2, JCL and VSAM batch environment using ENDEVOR

version control, Control-M scheduling tool, and Syncsort and File-Aid

utility tools; conducting performance testing of mainframe batch and online

modules using STROBE; and writing and executing SQL queries against DB2

databases; DE writing CICS transaction processing applications in COBOL

within a DB2 and VSAM system environment; and developing mainframe modules

that interface with distributed and web consumer layer modules within

defined contribution record keeping functionalities; DE debugging online

applications using Intertest, and debugging batch programs using Smarttest;

DE mentoring and training interns and junior developers in mainframe

development and batch processing.
