Job Description:

Duties: Assists with planning, designing, and executing testing of desktop

and Web applications, and Web services. Performs analysis of business and

system requirements, develops system test strategies and plans, tests data

requirements, supports the design and execution of test cases, and provides

front-line triage of issues, according to Agile methodologies. Designs,

develops, and maintains reusable automated test scripts for UI and Web

services layers. Develops complex SQL queries against databases, including

IBM DB2, Oracle, and Sybase, to extract data from tables and verify data

displayed on the application interface.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Creates test plans, data, procedures, and manual and/or automated

scripts.

• Participates in formal reviews of application designs, business

requirements, and functional requirements.

• Participates in code reviews.

• Writes complete and accurate reports on software problems.

• Identifies and suggests quality process improvements focused on

defect prevention.

• Creates systems and business relevant test cases.

• Ensures test environment reflects business requirements for test

execution.

• Assists in development of in-house test tools.

• Executes manual and/or automated test scripts for most complex

projects.

• Works with project team to establish testing entrance and exit

criteria.

• Ensures execution of project regression test tasks.

• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

• Works directly with the user community for project definition.

• Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis

for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

• Recommends strategies and methods to improve test plans and test

processes.

• Analyzes and reports test status and results.

• Identifies test issues and reports to project manager and business.

• Defines regression tests, and production verification and

validation for future projects.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of

experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in software

testing or quality assurance testing of desktop and Web applications, and

Web services, within a brokerage and 401k/pension product environment; or,

alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of

experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience in software

testing or quality assurance testing of desktop and Web applications, and

Web services, within a brokerage and 401k/pension product environment.

Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) implementing

service virtualization, including creating proxies and virtual assets using

Parasoft Virtualize tool; testing middleware business services; and

performing functional testing of client Web services using Parasoft

SOATest; DE developing and executing automated VB scripts in Quick Test

Professional (QTP) tool; building data driven and keyword driven VB scripts

for functional and regression testing phases; and writing C# automated test

scripts in Microsoft Visual Studio; DE writing SQL queries for data

modeling, testing data mining, and performing data validation by querying

databases -- Oracle, IBM DB2, and Sybase -- using Advanced Query Tool and

Toad; DE performing mainframe testing for end-to-end validations of

financial retail brokerage and institutional domain applications, using

RUMBA software in Time Sharing Option (TSO) and CICS transaction

environments; and testing Business to Business (B2B) integrated services

and applications.
