Job Description:
This role will be focused on ensuring accurate and timely
creation and maintenance of operational reporting to support the
financial reporting functions in providing insightful analysis of
results and ensuring appropriate controls are in place between
operational sub-systems (Payroll & Benefits, Accounts Payable,
T&E, Policy Management Systems, etc.) and the general
ledger. The role will be responsible for working with operations team
outside of finance (HR, Business IT/Operations, GSM) to provide
accurate and timely reporting for use by finance teams in verifying
balances, tracing sub system postings, analyzing variances, and
preparing standing journals. Key Accountabilities: Coordinate the preparation of monthly operational reporting to
US finance teams; Ensure that operational reporting (Payroll &
Benefits, Accounts Payable, T&E, Policy Management Systems,
etc.) is accurate, meets reporting requirements, and is delivered
in a timely manner. Responsible for calendar schedule. Assist in the development of all operational reporting for US
finance teams including (1) translating business requirements into
reporting detailed design (2) build, test, and deploy all new and
enhanced reporting (3) assess the application of data visualisation
tools (Tableau / QlikView) to improve the timeliness / delivery of
select operational reporting and (5) assess impact of operational
system changes / new system implementations on operational and
financial reporting. Assist in the preparation of all meta-data changes for in-scope
entities, attend monthly metadata calls, and update reporting
templates for meta-data changes as required Attend Workday Financials training. Work with Controllers and
Operations teams to assess the impact of and support the
implementation the Workday Financials in 2017. Attend Tableau/QlickView training and work with the EMEA QV
reporting teams to explore the potential applicability of data
visualization dashboards to support finance operational
reporting. Work collaboratively with the GL Reporting and Fiduciary
Accounting controllership staff team and other teams within the
company to complete reporting tasks and activities more
effectively. Experience and knowledge: o Minimum 4 years experience in accounting and finance
operations reporting function o Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Access, Relational Database /
Structures Query Language Concepts, and Reporting/Query
Applications (Crystal Reporting / Business Objects / TOAD / SQL
Query Analyser, etc. o Operational knowledge of the Commercial Insurance and
Reinsurance Industry including strong understanding of Insurance
Billing and Operational Accounting including Broking system o Knowledge of relevant financial reporting systems
preferred Skills: o Self-starter with a disciplined and organised approach to
work o Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel, Access, and
SQL o Ability to demonstrate good verbal, organisational and
