Job Description: S&P Global Markit Intelligence is seeking
an experienced and motivated Fund Accountant with exposure to an
investments type general ledger or sub ledger system to facilitate
daily client deliverables within the WSO Accounting Services group.
The individual will be responsible for managing client inquiries
and providing support for the WSOWeb outsourcing platform. Regular
duties will include facilitating journal entries, assembling
financial statements and troubleshooting or answering questions
about account balances, journal entries or general portfolio data.
Additional responsibilities include partnering with other S&P
Global teams and partners as we continue building our WSO
Accounting Services business to produce a high-quality solution for
customers with specific fund accounting, shadow accounting and fund
administration needs. Candidates must have experience directly
interfacing with customers and working through difficult questions
in real time. They must possess a working knowledge of syndicated
and/or private credit with direct exposure to fund accounting and
general financial reporting. Candidates should be creative,
thoughtful and able to solve problems by challenging the status
quo. Duties & Accountabilities
- Manage day-to-day client inquiries including the orchestration
of workflow and timely resolution between internal teams. Inquiry
types include data reconciliation and validation, financial data
delivery including asset performance, fund accounting and other
investment reports. On occasion, this person will also be
responsible for coordinating team task deliverables and client
communications. Clients include Asset Managers, Banks, Hedge Funds,
Mutual Funds, and Insurance providers.
- Assist with construction of financial reporting deliveries to
new clients as we build out our business, and provide accounting
expertise both internally and externally
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly ad-hoc performance and risk
reporting for the funds as well as collaborate with fund
administrators, custodians, brokers and trustees during NAV
calculations and ensuring data integrity.
- Capture and report client statistics, trends, and metrics based
on a series of quantitative measures (e.g. Assets Under
Management).
- Prepare billing reports based on clients' contractual
schedules. Includes the presentation of trend/profitability
analysis to Senior Management and Finance
- Provide overall support and customer service to entirety of
Services clients; ensuring team coverage model of 7am-7pm CST is in
place and operating daily
- Assist all team members with as needed daily project
management, data validation, and data deliverables.
- Have a creative mindset to continuously assess and streamline
existing work-flows to create uniformity and efficiency across the
board. Education & Experience
- BA or BS from accredited institution required with a CFA or CPA
preferred
- 3+ years of experience in business, finance or accounting
preferred
- Working knowledge of GAAP and IFRS principles preferred
- Experience with financial reporting, general ledger and fund
accounting
- Commercial awareness within the syndicated and/or private
credit market
- Excel experience valued (i.e. Macro, V-Lookup, Charts, Pivot
Tables, etc.)
- Exposure/understanding of financial concepts/investment
markets, with preferences made to those with a background in the
Financial Services industry
- Strong work ethic - organized, detail oriented, analytical, and
a desire to learn and improve upon existing workflows
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work
independently and multi-task in a complex, fast-paced and
deadline-driven environment
- Strong customer service/support mindset
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
