The Associate will be involved in all aspects of Leveraged Finance & Capital Markets transactions including underwriting, marketing and execution of transactions for non-investment grade and cross-over rated -corporate and private equity sponsor borrowers & issuers.
Overall responsibilities include: driving the drafting of pitches and underwriting memos, completion of due diligence, coordinating with relevant internal groups (Corporate Coverage, Credit, Capital Markets, Risk Management etc.) to drive internal approval processes, overseeing the updating and maintenance of comps and market databases, preparation of marketing and syndication material and legal documentation review.
Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting senior members of the leveraged finance and capital markets teams with research, analytics, pitches and underwriting memos, due diligence, internal approval processes and all other support necessary to complete all aspects of loan, high yield / convertible, and liability management transactions. Work closely with other associate / analyst pool members.


  • Work directly with the senior deal leads and be involved in all aspects of leveraged finance and capital markets transactions from pitching through execution
  • Provide oversight of maintenance and updates to loan and bond -comparables: -ensure database is current and accurate and all new deals are reflected in comps; report on assigned deals to industry verticals on a weekly basis
  • Ensure transaction trackers are updated and review one-pagers for Corporate Coverage
  • Prepare marketing materials such as pitches, Confidential Information Memorandums and Lender Presentations and draft underwriting memos and present to management, as well as clients
  • Review market updates to ensure quality of information, such as, trends (pricing, tenors, structure), deals and opportunities in the non-investment grade and cross-over-rated -markets
  • Keep close collaboration with the credit and client coverage teams during loan structuring and primary syndication processes and bond marketing and pricing, and attend pitches whenever possible
  • Manage the process for investor meetings (bank meetings, roadshows) to ensure flawless execution
  • Work closely with operations to ensure all loan and bond closings are appropriately monitored and documented

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of 2-4 years prior experience in leveraged finance, capital markets or industry coverage group at a major financial institution or private equity -firm --- -Strong analytical and presentation skills and experience executing and supporting both best-efforts and committed transactions
    • Broad-based knowledge of the syndicated loan and high yield bond businesses, including a strong understanding of credit agreements, bond indentures, deal structures, execution processes, -etc
    • Strong financial statement, cash flow and credit analysis, corporate finance, and financial accounting skills. Able to learn Texas Capital Bank / Securities systems quickly and experience with industry standard banking systems
    • Ability to read and understand legal documentation
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, while balancing workload and prioritizing effectively to complete work accurately and in a timely manner against strict deadlines
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to manage internal and external client relationships and work comfortably with senior members of the team
    • Highly collaborative and flexible in a team and client environment; shares information with team pro-actively and coordinates and communicates effectively with various internal departments across the bank & capital markets group
    • Excellent writing skills to clearly articulate information in pitch materials and underwriting memos
    • Self-driven and motivated; takes personal ownership of specific assignments
    • BA/BS required in accounting, finance or economics, MBA preferred
    • Series 7, 79 and 63 preferred
