What you'll doWe are currently looking to add a team member with cryptocurrency forensics, blockchain analysis and transaction tracing experience. You'll be a part of the team supporting our Investigations, Compliance and Privacy practice. You will work on matters related to:

• Financial investigations including those involving fraud schemes, asset misappropriation, and corruption.
• Transaction tracing and determining the source and use of funds and assets leveraging blockchain analytics insights
• Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering/Office of Foreign Assets Controls ("BSA/AML/OFAC") compliance.Your work will involve a wide range of activities, such as:
  • Utilize your cryptocurrency and blockchain knowledge to help conduct investigations
  • Develop and maintain industry contacts and service provider knowledge in order to stay abreast with the latest processes and technology-based controls
  • Work in internal teams, on cryptocurrency topics for client engagements
  • Advise various types of cryptocurrency and blockchain businesses regarding AML Customer Identification Program (CIP), Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD)/Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Sanctions, and ABC program requirements.
  • Engage with industry experts and represent AlixPartners at industry seminars, symposiums and presentations.
  • Communicate with clients and colleagues in written and oral form including drafting reports and presentations to clients
  • Evaluate large data sets, including by applying a data driven approach
  • Perform quality control review over work product
  • Organize documents and work papers, including preparing supporting materialsThis description is not designed to encompass a comprehensive listing of required activities, duties or responsibilities.What you'll need
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, actuarial sciences or related; Master's is desirable
    • A minimum of eight years' relevant experience
    • Chainalysis Reactor Certification or equivalent preferred
    • Comprehensive understating of blockchain technologies, cryptocurrency, DeFi, Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, DApps, and NFTs
    • Experience in blockchain analytics and transaction tracing, and tracing tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM Labs, or others
    • Prior experience managing a small team (in-person or remote) is desirable.
    • Ability to work with large sets of data with MS Excel
    • Exposure to and experience working with other data analysis platforms such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Python is desirable
    • Well-developed analytical abilities
    • Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks, self-prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
    • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently with a positive and entrepreneurial attitude
    • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice and for extended periods of time
    • A professional demeanor with strong communication and presentation skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and in particular as unique projects/needs arise.
    • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday
