The VP Operations will have responsibility and authority to execute on all strategic projects and initiatives. Success is defined by his/her ability to effectively manage in a highly matrixed organization and effect positive change ultimately resulting in the significant growth of the Government business measured in Revenue and Operating Income. Responsibilities Business Operations & Strategy Work closely with the Managing Director, Government to develop and evolve strategic objectives, execution plans, and operational goals to return the business to profitability, sustainable growth and become a market leader in key strategic markets. Provide management oversight for executing against strategic plans, and tracking progress of strategic initiatives (e.g contractual and operational deliverables, operational alignment with financial objectives, and cross functional coordination) Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on the progress of the strategic plan implementation. Provide MD and other internal stakeholders with visibility into progress against strategic initiatives including issues, risks and mitigation plans, Provide effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all programs and initiatives across TRTA Government business Manage written communications for various internal and external stakeholders - including periodic business updates and adhoc information requests Manage operating rhythm of GLT, including meeting agendas, tracking action items and ensuring follow ups are delivered. Motivate and provide leadership to the GLT to increase consciousness of the interrelationship between each department; perform as one team versus siloed department Establish mechanisms for communication and collaboration across functions Liaise with Finance, Product Management, and ET&O to align capital planning and product expenditures with operational objectives and long term strategy. Partner with TRTA Strategy team and GLT to develop annual Government strategy In partnership with Product Management, assess business line and product viability and determine the path forward including opportunities, partnership and resource management Partner with VP of Sales to continually gather and analyze customer and competitive trends to assist in developing the Government strategy. Partner other TRTA and TR businesses to develop a joint short-term and long-term go-to-market strategies and operational plans. Partner with TR Government affairs team to position TRTA Government business as a market and thought leader Program Management Lead centralized PMO function that supports project execution across TRTA Government business Develop consistent operating mechanisms for strategic project planning, goal setting and governance standards Establish practices for project execution and documentation Maintain project portfolio prioritization in alignment with business strategy Develop, track, and manage against project budgets, coordinating actual reporting and any project changes across the functional teams Oversee and manage systems required for effective project and program oversight Customer & Market Relationships Represent Company and TRTA Government with key internal and external stakeholders including clients, Governments, NGO’s, and various industry associations; Meet and network regularly with business leaders. Actively identify and implement ways to make it easier for our customers to do business with us. Provide direct support to GLT to ensure overall customer satisfaction by attending client meetings and developing action plans based on the outcome of the discussion. Remain knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and all aspects of Company’ market. Resource Management Partner with Head of HR to develop and implement a resource plan to scale the business Work closely with VP, Finance and Head of HR to identify opportunities to increase efficiency while successfully delivering on customer commitments and obtaining growth strategy Oversee and manage business partnerships to effectively scale operations, i.e. Implementation partners and strategic vendors Attract, retain and develop key talent to the business Partner with Government Sales leaders and TRTA Sales Operations organization to set and achieve clear annual sales goals and roadmap for sales operations and effectiveness. Develop in coordination with Head of Sales goals and metrics for large complex multi-year pursuits; i.e. a purposeful, deliberate, and comprehensive pursuit plan to include relationship maps and metrics to track strength of relationships, pursuit plan schedule, number of touch points during pursuit, opportunities for product demonstrations, etc. Manages a team of 4-6. Interacts with senior managers and executives at major customers, as well as government officials and regulatory body leaders. Manages a matrix organization (with dotted reporting lines, teams managed on a functional basis etc). Qualifications Masters degree in Business preferred or related degree/equivalent experience. Strong communication and change management skills. Proven leadership ability in fast-paced and complex environments and an ability to drive strategy across team. Strong understanding of the businesses under management (Tax & Accounting Government) Resourceful problem solver who acts with a sense of urgency and a commitment to drive maximum impact for the Government business and its clients
