The administrative assistant must exercise excellent judgment and communication skills to deal with a broad spectrum of people, including executives, colleagues and other employees as needed. This position handles sensitive and confidential information regularly, so diplomacy, tact, and discretion are essential skills.

This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8am - 5pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.

Primary Responsibilities:


Ensure employees/contractors receive access and guidance with office operations
Perform Business Segment Liaison (BSL) activities - hardware/software acquisition/disposal, new employee onboarding, etc.)
Demonstrate understanding of applicable business departments' operations, drivers, and/or procedures
Maintain and/or communicate sensitive and/or confidential information in accordance with internal policies and procedures
Consult/communicate with internal and/or external customers to identify and/or provide needed resources or resolve issues
Research and/or provide needed information to respond to requests in a timely manner
Establish relationships and collaborate with key internal and/or external resource personnel to facilitate operations

Required Qualifications:


High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
2+ years of administrative assistance or clerical support
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (create, edit, format, schedule, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications:


Bachelor's Degree (or higher)


Telecommuting Requirements:


Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service


Soft Skills:


Experience supporting multiple people and maintaining several complex calendars (scheduling appointments/meetings, arranging travel, etc.)
Proven ability to anticipate needs, have a sense of urgency, be proactive, and conscientious
Exceptional time-management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while juggling and prioritizing multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek assistance as appropriate
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Supportive nature and ability to stay upbeat in difficult situations

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $15.00 - $25.19. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $15.77 - $27.79.
