Job Summary
Works under general supervision of physician and/or nurse to
provide clinical support to physicians and nurses in delivery of
patient clinical care and administrative support.
This position is paid monthly, at the first of every month.

Job Duties
--- Takes, records, and reports patient vital signs using medical
equipment; performs procedures of low complexity such as visual
acuity, development and/or musculoskeletal screening.
--- Escorts or transports patients to exam rooms or treatment
rooms.
--- Documents patient data into medical record, may record
historical patient information into medical record.
--- Assists in care of patients by preparing exam rooms for patient
care, facilitating use of diagnostic equipment, and ensuring
availability of needed patient information, such as reports of
diagnostic exams and medical records.
--- Responds to patient questions regarding their care, seeking
assistance from the nurse or physician as appropriate.
--- Performs variety of administrative/clerical duties, such as
receiving and scheduling patient appointments, distributing mail,
and preparing reports and correspondence as directed.
--- Inspects equipment and facilities visually and physically to
ensure patient safety and proper functioning, performs appropriate
quality controls per policy.
--- Ensures appropriate patient consent and authorization forms are
obtained for research and/or medical treatment.
--- Maintains current customer service, clinical, and technical
skills by attending training programs and annual competency skills
lab and ensure compliance with departmental policies and
procedures.
--- Maintains adequate stock of supplies as required for work
area.
--- Duties performed may include one or more of the following core
functions:
o Directly interacting with or caring for patients.
o Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research
participants.
o Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing, or similarly
affecting patient records (including patient financial
records).
o Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing, or similarly
affecting human-subjects research records.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
--- High School diploma or equivalent.
--- Certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life
Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American
Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) before first
day of employment is required.
--- Completion of Medical Assistant training in an approved
program, or one (1) year experience patient care in a physician
office practice or hospital setting required.
--- Will accept completion of EMT or Paramedic Training
Program.
