The focus will be on improving operational efficiencies and reliability of the existing on-premise Security tools ecosystem while transforming the teams to work in an increasingly cloud native environment as Freddie embraces and then moves primarily into the public cloud! We are seeking a motivated individual who will play a leadership role in our transformation into an Agile & DevOps focused organization with aspirations of being cloud native. The candidate should have a strong ability to adapt and apply IT expertise to a varying array of issues relating to the industrialization and operation of the Freddie Security tools platform at scale as well as periodic maintenance and integration with new and existing tools/applications. The end goal is to create a seamless transition of the existing Security tool ecosystem to cloud native architectures and assist application teams with their transition all while maintaining operational stability.Our Impact:Adopt and champion Agile methodologies to improve workflow velocity and improve leadership insight into project timelines and efficiencyCollaborate with IT teams to operationalize information security policies and controls and provide timely reporting of any events or breaches of complianceStandardize and automate tools configuration/patching processesKeep abreast of current threat vectors and ecosystem of security-related toolsYour Impact:Drive and adopt a culture driven by data - where key performance indicators are gathered from top to bottom and fed to automated tooling to improve system reliability and performancePrototype new tools & technologies based on organizational strategy and evolving threats while looking for opportunities to optimize, consolidate and manage out tools that no longer meet company needsHave a high level understanding of application workstreams within the business that consume the supported Security tools platform provided to better support key team membersMentor existing team managers as the company embarks on moving Security tools to the public cloudQualifications:Minimum of 12 years leading Security teams supporting cloud adoption at an enterprise scale; Bonus points for leading threat protection efforts for legacy applications being deployed to the cloudMinimum of 12 years of experience in Enterprise ITBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or equivalent work experienceExperience (at scale) with running information security on platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform; Bonus points for experience working in a hybrid public/private cloud modelThorough understanding of and experience implementing security technologiesHigh level understanding of cloud PaaS systems such as OpenShift, Cloud Foundry, or similar systemHigh level understanding of containerization tech such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with VMWare a plusExperience participating in discussions with senior leadership to understand the vision and strategic goals being supported by the teamExperience communicating project and budget status to senior leadership on regular, defined intervalsExperience with business financial management, compliance and regulatory requirements, program management, change management and risk managementKeys to Success in this Role:Strong coaching and mentoring skillsThinking and acting strategicallyGood communication and ability to influence without authorityAbility to use data to identify and control drivers to achieve successEnsure compliance with corporate policies and standardsProactive in identifying existing issues and question the status quoHave passion for driving business, culture, and technology change in dynamic and complex operating environmentsCurrent Freddie Mac employees please apply through the internal career site.Today, Freddie Mac makes home possible for one in four home borrowers and is one of the largest sources of financing for multifamily housing.
