Job Description:
Job Summary: The Construction Managers will oversee and
coordinate all aspects of the new home construction from start to
finish, ensuring that schedules and budgets are followed. The role
starts with managing the construction of multiple homes in an
assigned subdivision from permit to closing by scheduling job site
subcontractors, scheduling several homebuyer walk-throughs, and
inspections to ensure the work performed meets quality standards
and adheres to company guidelines and specifications. The location
of the assigned subdivision is determined by the Area Construction
Manager and subject to change as needed in the interest of the
Company. Status: Full Time, Exempt/Salary Division/Team: Legend
Homes/Construction (Dallas) Reports to: Area Construction Manager
Supervises: Assistant Construction Manager(s) Objective of the
Position: Oversee and coordinate various construction projects from
start to finish, ensuring that schedules, budgets, and safety/OSHA
guideline are followed. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises
each contractor and subcontractor to ensure that work meets quality
standards and adheres to specifications. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities includes the following : Oversee the construction
of multiple homes, in multiple communities, from start to finish
Maintain a high level of quality and consistency throughout each
home Ensure homes are built within the time frame allocated and
within budget Inform Purchasing of all take-off errors or material
issues Watch your expenses and stay at or under budget Build
excellent rapport with home buyers and new homeowners Build
excellent and fair relationships with trades and vendors Maintain
community and job site cleanliness at all times Install and
maintain Sold and Available signs on all homes under construction
Manage material waste and misuse of materials Adhere to and manage
Jobsite Safety at all times Work closely with the on-site Sales
Counselors and communicate often Check Sales Simplicity for change
order updates and enter stage advancements as they occur Redline
new home start packages and distribute to trades and vendors Ensure
homes close when they are scheduled, or sooner Walk your homes
several times daily Maintain an organized house file for each
address Conduct pre-construction, pre-drywall, pre-settlement, and
sign-off meetings with each homebuyer Weekly communication with
each buyer is required every Monday with your Sales Counselor
Complete warranty letters in a timely manner Promote Legend Homes
in a positive manner at all times Be the best you can be Required
Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication
skills Thorough understanding of contracts, plans, specifications,
and regulations Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a
fast-paced environment Ability to make intelligent and quick
decisions, working well under pressure, and when faced with
unexpected occurrences or delays Ability to effectively multitask
while analyzing and solving problems Thorough understanding of
engineering, architectural, and other construction drawings
Knowledge of and familiar with operating basic computer systems and
programs (i.e. Windows, Adobe, Microsoft Office – Word, Excel,
Outlook, etc.) Ability to speak Spanish preferred Education and
Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required College
degree or equivalent are preferred Minimum of 2 years’ experience
in residential construction is preferred OSHA 10/30 Construction
qualification preferred Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all
types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching,
bending, crawling, or stretching Must be able to lift up to 50
pounds at a time Ability to travel the greater Dallas-Fort Worth
area is required Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies,
bad weather, and other issues on a jobsite Please note this job
