The Network Automation Engineer position is responsible for maintaining and developing the automation capabilities necessary to run corporate network services at scale and with a high degree of consistency.To be successful in this position, you must be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership of tasks, work under pressure, and balance multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining a positive outlook. You must possess excellent verbal and written documentation skills and collaborate effectively with local and remote team members.**Responsibilities:**+ Maintain and extend the capabilities of the network automation platform.+ Provide escalation support for tools and technologies used for delivering the capabilities; you may be asked to participate in the on-call rotation in the future.+ Develop custom code integrating components of the platform and other infrastructure services; you may be asked to peer review the code and perform quality assurance tasks.+ Follow security requirements around patching, role-based access control, and secure software development lifecycle.+ Write process and technical documentation, and create diagrams. Provide training to other network domain teams for the adoption of automation capabilities.+ Collaborate with the key stakeholders (Service Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Network Engineering, and Site Reliability) to gather and develop requirements; participate in office hours and other meetings.+ Participate in the team discussions and provide feedback, and share the experience.**Qualifications:**+ 3 to 5 years of IT work experience, with at least 2 years of experience writing code, preferably to support the network domain.+ Must be results-oriented and have strong verbal and written communication skills, i.e., communicate complex ideas effectively.+ Ability to break down a manual process into an automated workflow. Knowledge of StackStorm, NetBox, etc., will be a plus.+ Proven ability in Bash and Python 3; especially program comprehension.+ Working knowledge of Git, GitHub flow, and CI/CD concepts.+ Understanding of REST-based API design principles and best practices.+ Experience operating a network; familiarity with fundamentals of subnetting, routing, switching, data flows, etc.+ Understand Linux systems and comfortable working with AWS public cloud and cloud-native technologies like containers and serverless; knowledge of Terraform is preferred.+ Exposure to processes like incident management, change management, and problem management.**This role is Office-Flex (-1-3 days/wk in office) or Fully Remote****Accommodations**If you require assistance due to a disability applying for open positions please submit a request via this Accommodations Request Form (https://careers.mail.salesforce.com/accommodations-request-form) .**Posting Statement**At Salesforce we believe that the business of business is to improve the state of our world.
