Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Business Technology (NBT), is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Platform Engineer- MES. Individuals who meet the minimum qualifications and are interested in this opportunity should upload a resume when applying online.
The responsibilities of the Platform Engineer- MES role includes but are not limited to:

• 
  
• 
  Installing, configuring and maintaining Windows & Linux servers in the Cloud or OnPrem environments
  
  
• 
  Performing software installations, patches, and upgrades as well as system backup and recovery, analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, software and networking issues.
  
  
• 
  Configuring, debugging and supporting multiple infrastructure platforms.
  
  
  This individual will be required to work closely with members of the NBT Technology Services team and NBT subject matter experts, technical staff, and project managers. This individual will be required to work nights and weekends as needed.
  Division location placement will be considered on an as needed basis.

  Minimum Qualifications:
  
  • 
    
  • 
    1+ years experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux Servers
    
    
  • 
    3+ years experience administering Microsoft Servers
    
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • 
      Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related scientific or technical degree; or equivalent work experience
      
      
    • 
      Experience administering of Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
      
      
    • 
      Experience performing automation and configuration management with Puppet and Terraform
      
      
    • 
      Working knowledge of Netbackup or equivalent policies and client software
      
      
    • 
      Proficient in administrating VMWare
      
      
    • 
      Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator
      
      
    • 
      Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
