Primary Purpose

Responsible for staffing and managing a team of learning professionals to ensure the effective facilitation and delivery of Epic business application training, new employee onboarding, other systems training, and professional development offerings to enable employees to meet job expectations and grow professionally. This position also manages the development and delivery of training for optimization projects and upgrades for Epic business applications.

Minimum Specifications

Education

- Must have a Bachelor's degree. Preference given to a degree in Business Administration, Education, Communication, or Healthcare.

- Prefer Master's Degree in Education or related field. Significant education or management experience will be accepted in lieu of a graduate degree.

Experience

- Must have eight (8) years of combined experience in training, leading teams, and experience using an electronic health record (Epic preferred)

- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience (healthcare business or training experience preferred)

- Minimum 2 years of Epic business application use or training experience.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

- May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

- Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.

- Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100) for Healthcare/Hospitals or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.

- Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS-200.HCA: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations (ICS 200) or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.

- Must have a current certification or proficiency in an EPIC business application, or within 6 months of employment.

- Must have EPIC TED certification or proficiency, or within 6 months of employment.

- Prefer at least one certification for excellence in learning and development; e.g., Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTDz0.

- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interact effectively with all levels of internal/external staff, consultants, and vendors; lead or facilitate meetings.

-Must possess critical-thinking skills and be able to identify the training needs of an organization and recognize where changes and improvements can be made.

- Must possess solid decision making abilities to meet the needs of the organization.

- Must be able to demonstrate program development and management: ability to develop and manage training programs and initiatives from concept to deployment and evaluation, using proven program management practices and processes.

- Demonstrates high levels of competency in information systems and operational workflows.

- Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills to work and collaborate effectively with direct and indirect team members such as staff, trainees, subject matter experts, and organizational leaders.

- Must possess strong prioritization skills, be able to work independently and manage multiple projects.

- Must be able to demonstrate an expert level knowledge regarding Learning and Development best practices and theories, including training design, development, e- learning and delivery.

Responsibilities

- Manages effective onboarding for Epic business applications that impact the patient experience and billing workflows.

- Leads training design, development, and delivery related to systems upgrades, such as Epic, and optimization projects.

- Provides oversight for onboarding of business staff that is related to additional systems training and business skills.

- Ensures efficient and effective coordination, processes, and delivery of new employee orientation that meets compliance standards and provides an optimal employee experience.

- Manages the Epic training environment - with emphasis on business modules - to ensure accuracy between the training environments and production so training is conducted on real-world scenarios.

- Evaluates training effectiveness for onboarding and systems project efforts through all levels of training evaluation.

- Collaborates with stakeholders to identify strategic initiatives and action plans. Ensures training initiatives are in alignment with Parkland┬┐s overall strategic initiatives.

- Selects, trains, schedules, motivates, coaches, and evaluates educators, subject matter experts, and support resources, making recommendations for disciplinary actions up to and including termination, to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge.

- Develops and maintains team processes and expectations for effective facilitation and consultation with stakeholders to provide education solutions.
