We're Hawkeye, a one-of-a-kind human experience agency--- Job Description Associate Art Director: Uses practical understanding of multimedia, design and other communication media to support the design team with the creation and execution of visually appealing and motivating layouts. As developing professional, reviews and understands the creative strategy for each assignment and develops work that fulfills the strategy and goals within that document. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Participates with other members of the design team to create and execute visually appealing and motivating layouts, from brochure design to logos, conceptual thinking to relationship marketing, and advertising to direct mail. In doing so, actively participates in team meetings to discuss assignment parameters. * Applies knowledge of required software design tools to design and art direct small and/or non-complex aspects of client assignments per direction from the Art Director or Senior Art Director. Assignments include preliminary drafts of non-complex print ads, tables, charts, outdoor boards, logos, table tents, banners, bus boards and wraps and anywhere else a client might use to entice the consumer with strategic messages. Accomplishes this through personal efforts and by effectively managing specific aspects of larger projects, less experienced team members, and outside freelancers. * Checks and tweaks approved layouts to conform to house style and ensures that internal deadlines, timetables and approval procedures are adhered to for assigned project phases. Helps develop tools and recommendations to improve current processes that impact client deliverables. * Gains exposure to physical production process and photoshoot and illustrator file management. Participates in client planning meetings to contribute to concepting. * Develops and maintains a working knowledge of client's business, industry and marketing needs. Expands personal knowledge of promotion, management techniques and current state-of-the-art production techniques. * Works enthusiastically with account team, production, traffic, and other creatives in a collaborative environment. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Increases understanding and awareness of best practices through attendance at trade and professional meetings and seminars, trade shows, perusal of the literature, and use of supplementary educational activities. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: * Professional knowledge of graphics art or related field required as normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree. * Approximately three to six months on the job experience necessary to gain understanding of internal standards, tools and effectively apply formal graphics design training to project management activities. * Interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively exchange important information with internal and external clients, manage workflow within and across teams and recommend improvements to existing processes that impact client relations. * Analytical skills necessary to evaluate schedules, budgets and client strategies against initial scope or work requested.
