JOB SUMMARY/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT: The Senior Account Manager, Risk Management ("SAM") reports directly to the President, Risk Management and provides support to Summit producers and independent producers. The primary focus of this position is to retain clients by providing outstanding account management and customer service to existing clients, and new clients after sales are closed. The SAM specializes in advanced subject matter expertise related to commercial property & casualty insurance, make certain the clients' needs are met, and must be willing to assume the full responsibility of client retention.RESPONSIBILITIES/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages a commercial property & casualty book of insurance business, while acting with a high degree of independent discretion, autonomy, and decision-making.
  • Thorough understanding of Acord Forms including but not limited to applications, binders, and certificates
  • Provides professional, courteous service to Summit clients, carrier representatives, underwriters and business partners that results in the highest standard of client retention.
  • Oversees the preparation and implementation of all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts
  • Acquires understanding of clients' insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability. Stays abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact their clients
  • Acts as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve. May also negotiate with underwriters and carriers
  • Appropriately documents conversations with clients and carrier representatives and updates AMS360 when necessary. Ensures the accuracy of data in AMS360
  • Supports, mentors, and trains Client Service Representatives and Account Managers, as necessary.
  • Recognize areas of weakness, provide suggestions, and update documentation for process improvement.
  • Perform general and administrative duties as assigned.EXPERIENCE:
    • 3 years previous work-related experience preferred
    • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Experience using Microsoft Office 365; Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Dynamics
    • Experience using Agency Management System (AMS 360)Education Required:
      • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.Certifications/Licenses:
        • Active Property & Casualty Insurance License required
        • CIC, CPCU professional designations preferred.
