Job Description

Medable is on the hunt for a Sr. Director of Global Communications. In partnership with the Chief Marketing Officer and Marketing Leadership Team, this senior leader will be responsible for ideating and implementing creative public relations strategies that elevate Medable's brand, garner global headlines, drive thought leadership, and support the company's mission with a world class internal comms skill set as well. The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller accustomed to thinking creatively and an outstanding relationship builder who brings a global company perspective, strong media and industry relations, and exceptional written and communication skills to the role.

What you'll do day to day:

  • Develop and execute unique, innovative, and targeted media relations strategies that drive meaningful coverage and exposure for our brand
  • Oversee media relations, both proactive and reactive; Develop and foster key relationships with journalists, digital influencers, and media outlets on behalf of Medable
  • Own the creation and distribution of media collateral, including press releases, media advisories, talking points, and opinion pieces
  • Work with the People team to prepare and roll out internal comms, to ensure employees are kept up to date of our corporate and financial milestones and announcements
  • Track and measure results of media coverage, delivering comprehensive reports monthly, including impression numbers when applicable
  • Develop a compelling, global thought leadership strategy and executive communications platform that can be leveraged in media as well as conferences/trade shows globally
  • Identify opportunities to elevate investments made in paid, owned, and earned media, actively seeking out multi-channel platforms and emerging channels
  • Work with CMO and PR Agency on awards strategy and submissions, staff and prep executive interviews, and collaborate with colleagues at Medable to promote key initiatives both internally and externally.
  • Manage crisis communications and reputational issues as needed
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on success metrics
  • Manage our external agency partner relationship and budgets
    Qualifications
    • You have a track record of developing and managing external and corporate communications strategies during periods of unprecedented growth where public relations is critical to the company's success
    • You've driven proven results leveraging out of the box thinking in a full range of communication platforms
    • You lead with maturity, clear communication, and "executive presence" to successfully interact with C-level execs both internally and externally
    • You have an existing network of top tier reporters
    • You are extremely organized and detail-oriented
    • You demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills
    • You're an inspiring storyteller, creative thinker, and compelling communicator
    • You can easily work independently and are self-motivated with a strong work ethic and sense of ownership of goals
    • Self-starter who can create clarity and order in ambiguous situations
    • Strong work ethic and willingness to get in the weeds to get the job done
    • Strong communicator who excels in fast-paced and collaborative environments
    • Strong attention to detail and project management skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
