As the Director, Engineering Maintenance, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and reliability leadership in the automation area, developing corporate standards, preparing sites for new implementations and startups, and identifying cost savings and improvement opportunities.   • Develop, standardize and establish system tools (such as CMMS systems) to be used at highly automated sites to manage product life cycle, preventive maintenance, work standards, reactive maintenance, failure modes, uptime, etc. - providing for overall understanding of operating cost and improvement targets
  • Review existing and new technologies (pre-assessment) for maintainability and reliability such as Goods To Person, ASRS, AGVs, Cobots, robotics, PLCs, conveyors and sorters
  • Establish the skill sets and competencies required to support maintenance training programs, tools and maintenance area upfit, spare parts program and external service requirements
  • Provide direction and guidance to site maintenance leadership
  • Participate in new installations and facility startups
  • Review and action synergies across the operating network to establish best practices, KPIs and standardization
  • Establish vendor improvement plans to improve reliability, premature failures and warranty problems
  • Review and establish service contracts for new automation installations and ensure support structure is enabled
  • Drive improvements to lower the total cost of ownership with automation and general maintenance
  • Ensure a business continuity plan exists for materials supply and services for both domestic and globalWhat you need to succeed at GXO:At a minimum, you'll need:
    • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent related work or military experience
    • 7 years of engineering maintenance and leadership experience
    • Experience directing root cause analysis activities, and supporting process development and documentation
    • Lean methodology and AutoCAD experienceIt'd be great if you also have:
      • Advanced degree in Engineering or related field
      • Experience in multifacility distribution and/or manufacturing
      • Experience with automation, industrial equipment and facilities engineering
      • Availability to travel up to 50% of the time
      • Lean manufacturing and operating knowledge
