Job Description:
Job DescriptionThe Hotel Market Manager role is responsible for
developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with
hotels and hotel brands in various regions across the United
States. The role successfully manages the hotel relationship,
selection, and contracting processes for the NCAA Championship
Housing account and related groups. Hotel Market Managers are
assigned particular regions and are responsible for understanding
the regional housing market and environment and developing ongoing
relationships with property team members. Individuals in this role
are a key part of the management team and work closely with the
Senior Event Manager for the NCAA Championship Housing
Program.Position will focus on the following areas:---Anthony
Travel hotel management processes---Identification and
implementation of solutions for key client and customers---Vendor
or hotel relationship managementKey skills that this individual
must possess include strategic decision-making, developing and
maintaining mutually beneficial relationships, leadership
abilities, effective organization and prioritization of work, clear
and concise communications, and experienced in contract
negotiations. This person must also have the ability to formulate
and implement procedures, as well as the ability to teach and lead
staff. Proven leadership and management skills are imperative.
Ability to focus on details is imperative; familiarity with sports
is helpful.Specific Job Responsibilities:Responsibilities include
but are not limited to:1. Develops, proposes and presents housing
plans related to NCAA championship events2. Negotiates deal terms
based on specific needs of individual sports / events3. Analyzes,
develops and communicates value of business, across different years
and events4. Builds strong relationships and works closely with
hotels, hotel brands and hotel national sales contacts5. Secures
and contracts group business, to include room sales, food &
beverage sales and meeting space needs.6. Works with other Anthony
Travel department or account managers to facilitate needs agreed
upon by the client and creates proposals and contracts for group
business8. Implements operational efficiencies including current
process evaluation for continued improvement9. Negotiates hotel
contracts10. Performs periodic contract reviews to ensure Anthony
Travel and NCAA are receiving the best available rates in the
market11. Manages contracts to minimize risk and maximize revenue
to company12. Performs situation analysis and decision making13.
Works with hotels and clients liaisons to ensure hotels are
prepared for events and address customer service issues14. Takes
initiative to identify solutions to solve particular process or
business problems15. Manages:a) Championship housing / event
proceduresb) Resource utilization and productivityc) Marketing and
sales materialsd) Vendor or hotel commission paymentse) Sales
analysis and reconciliationf) Client reportingg) Accuracy and
consistency with procedures and policiesh) Data/information setup
in travel management systemsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:1.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and
experience is required.2. Two or more years of related business,
sales and hotel management experience preferred.3. Strong
client-service and vendor management orientation along with solid
interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.4. Experience
with evaluating hotel contracts and negotiating mutually beneficial
agreements5. Past history of developing relationships with existing
and potential clients and partners, resulting in financial or other
benefits to the organization.6. Ability to understand and follow
internal business processes, recommending and deploying
improvements where possible.7. Strong capabilities in writing
proposals and contracts.8. Business knowledge or familiarity of
end-to-end travel lifecycle and hotel operations and contracts
preferred.9. Ability to professionally and effectively represent
Anthony Travel on the phone and in face to face interactions.10.
Works as a team player to establish business processes and meet
