Director of Accounting Policy & Regulatory Reporting
**Please note: Our client can allow someone to work remotely within
their three State Footprint of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi
(preferably at a local branch.)) Banking experience (through Audit
Firm or within a bank is a must to be considered.) **
If you are an accounting professional within the banking industry
and are looking to expand your leadership skills in technical
accounting and regulatory reporting, we may just have the perfect
opportunity for you. We are looking for an experienced Accounting
Policy and Bank Regulatory Reporting professional to own the
preparation of internal and external financial reporting for a
growing bank that is experiencing rapid growth. This is a highly
visible position within the bank we are looking for a highly
motivated individual who can help establish and build processes as
our client grows.
Primary Responsibilities Relative to Accounting Policy Work:You
will cooperate with top management executives within the bank to
decisively develop, maintain and implement accounting principles
and policies to guarantee compliance with GAAP. You will be
responsible for keeping current knowledge of GAAP, SEC and Banking
industry developments as well as analyzing and communicating the
impact to the Sr. Director of Reporting and senior management. You
will perform technical accounting research and position
documentation for complex accounting issues and business
transactions as well as participate in evaluation and
implementation of new FASB accounting pronouncements and SEC
regulations. You will evaluate the effects of new accounting
principles on current processes and policies and keep the bank and
various lines of business in the loop. You will also develop and
maintain the corporate accounting policy guidebook and offer
ongoing recommendations for improvements and supplements to the
guidebook. Oversee emerging accounting standards and interpret the
effects on the organization as well as offering professional
technical accounting assistance on transactions and events.It will
be necessary to maintain and establish cooperative relationships
with finance associates, internal stakeholders as well as company
auditors. You will provide assistance in representing the
organization externally on matters affiliated with accounting
policies by taking active part in industry-wide relationships and
associated organizational meetings as appropriate.
Primary Responsibilities Relative to Regulatory Reporting:Lead the
development, preparation and review of all Regulatory Reporting
provided to the various regulatory bodies including the Dallas
Federal Reserve. You will ensure compliance by completing detailed
disclosure checklists. In this role you will be collaborating with
other functional groups and obtain the information necessary to
draft the appropriate descriptions and wording for the reporting
under your purview is a key determinant to success. Additionally,
helping monitor and maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
controls for all regulatory reporting is important as well. Having
a CPA accreditation and having worked with a bank, or a Top Ten
Public Accounting Firm and possess 8 to 13 years of documented
success and progression as a thought leader in the areas of Policy
and Regulatory Reporting, along with building teams and developing
talent is a must have in this role. This bank has a tremendous
