Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Patient Flow Center - Dallas,
Texas
Duties

The Nurse Manager, is responsible and accountable for 24/7
operations of the inpatient flow unit, ensuring that nursing
personnel provide timely nursing care which complies with accepted
standards of clinical practice.
The Flow Center Nurse Manager is responsible for managing the staff
from the Admission/Discharge Center, Bed Control, and the Transfer
Coordinators. The manager will be responsible for coordinating flow
improvement actions and serving as a member of all inpatient flow
process improvement committees and workgroups. They are responsible
for monitoring inpatient flow data as it applies to the Transfer
Coordination processes, Bed Control processes, and
Admission/Discharge processes. They will serve as the BMS point of
contact for the facility and be responsible for attending national
calls related to BMS and coordination of any suspense from the VISN
or National Patient Flow Office.
They will serve on the Facility Emergency Management Committee as
an ADHOC member and be responsible for using BMS to coordinate of
any evacuation or patient surge do to an internal, local, or
national emergency. The Flow Center Nurse Manager serves as a
member of the VISN flow coordination BMS workgroup. They also serve
as a member of the Inpatient Flow Workgroup and are responsible for
reporting data from BMS, from the Transfer Coordinator database,
and the Admission/Discharge Center databases. They are responsible
for reporting the daily bed flow data to the Director in daily
morning meeting and for updating the Chief of Staff and the
Director on the hospital's diversion status due to bed capacity,
bed closures, or other flow related problems.
Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for
performance awards
Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual

year)

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or
territory
Work Schedule: 7:30am- 4:00pm; Days, 24 hour responsibility of the
unit. May be required to work other shifts, be on call, work
weekends and/or holidays.
