GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Technical Engineering Project Manager to join our water/wastewater team based out of our Dallas, TX office. The individual would serve as technical lead of our regional water team and also the greater North American Water Resources capability. GHD are looking to leverage our leading corporate and regional experience in Water Engineering and Water Management to help grow our regional team. The US Mid-continent would be the primary focus but there would be an expectation to assist with national and international Water Projects as the need arises.
Desired areas of expertise include water resources, hydraulics and hydrology, stormwater and flood management, engineering research, GIS analyses, alternatives analyses, and cost estimating. Asset Management experience would also be considered favorably.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Masters preferred;
  • 5+ years of hydraulic, hydrology, water resources, planning and engineering;
  • Experience with and knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and use on large geo-spatial data planning projects;
  • Texas profession engineer registration preferred Other duties include:
    • Water planning studies include integrated water management and One Water principles
    • Performing hydraulic and hydrologic modeling
    • Preparing and/or managing the preparation of technical reports
    • Analyzing various types of flow, rainfall, water quality, and riverine condition data
    • Serving as task manager and/or project manager, maintaining task/project budgets and schedules
    • Assisting practice leads with marketing activities, including market evaluation and strategy, pre-marketing activities, and proposal development Required qualifications:
      • The ideal candidate will be a proficient hydraulic and hydrologic modeler and a licensed Professional Engineer (with current Texas registration)
      • Must have 5+ years of experience of applied knowledge in stormwater, flood, and water resources management
      • Experience with engineering and design of water resources related projects
      • Experience in developing project scopes, schedules and budgets for projects
      • Must be a savvy spatial sciences-oriented thinker with a passion for planning and Hydrology & Hydraulic modeling
      • Proven skills in modeling and GIS applications
      • Must be competent in leading and completing large planning and modeling tasks with minimal oversight
      • Must be a strong technical writer
      • Must be able to work on multiple assignments simultaneously; and have strong organizational, problem solving, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
      • Intermediate knowledge of GIS, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, HEC-RAS or other relevant modeling software Additional qualifications:
        • Experience with geomorphology considered a plus
        • Client management experience, a plus
        • Proven experience preparing PS&E packages, a plus
        • Grant and proposal writing experience, a plus
        • Staff supervisory experience, a plus
        • CFM and QSP/QSD Certifications, a plus
