Job Description:
Summary:
Overall accountability for leading the strategic direction for new
technology products and solutions globally driving long-term
business growth including developing overall product
strategy/vision, go-to market plans, and key
partnerships/alliances.
Essential Functions:
Cross-functional leadership to provide direction regarding
features, functionality, specifications, applications, performance
and cost factors to ensure that new products meet all requirements
based on a combination of market needs and profitability goals.
Drive definition of the overall product roadmap and the development
of our next generation solutions.
Collaborate with Product Management, Production Engineering &
Sourcing, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Quality teams regarding
planned products and timelines. Ensure that defined product
marketing requirements are technically and cost effectively
implemented into final product designs.
Engage with industry partners to integrate new technologies for
establishing and maintaining the leading solution ecosystem.
Responsible for the product development process from concept to
launch, including resource allocation for management of project
plans, product evaluation, design/development, prototype
verification, and final product validation. Provide guidance and
technical leadership regarding required EVT, DVT, PVT, and FAI
requirements and associated test processes.
Engage stakeholders, including sales, account management,
marketing, operations and engineering to align on clear, actionable
product strategy and priorities and deliver optimal results for
customers and the overall business.
Assist marketing team in providing leadership, guidance and
education to both internal and external customers on product
features, advantages, applications and benefits.
Develop and define feature enhancements, competitive assessments,
product messaging, sales training and product adoption.
Effectively influence and communicate between both suppliers and
internal functional teams to facilitate new product development
programs to meet required commitments.
Maintain a keen understanding of the use and application of all
products by customers and develop corrective action to resolve
quality, performance, or competitive issues. Provide support and
product training to sales teams to drive new business
development.
Management of all applications engineering and technical support to
provide best in class pre-sales applications engineering and
post-sales technical support.
Maintain a current knowledge of the industry, competitors and
customers through trade show attendance, direct and indirect
customer interaction, trade organizations, and professional
publications to maintain competitive insight and continuously
enhance product capabilities. Key thought-leader in the
organization relative to developing and sustaining competitive
advantage across product lines.
Meet with clients to solicit direct recommendations and VOC
feedback on products and features.
Creates and manages the product development budget and defines
business justification/ROI for required capital investments
Provide a supportive work environment designed to provide regular
feedback and coaching for direct reports in order to ensure
continued growth and development. Work effectively with other
internal engineering staff and external vendors.
Responsible for leadership of Product Managers, Engineering, and
Technical Support workforce.
Additional duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent education and work
experience.
Master's in Business Administration preferred.
Experience Requirements:
10 years of experience in managing in similar environment(s).
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Ability to manage ambiguity and complexity well, rank priorities,
and quickly solve problems in a fast-paced environment. Experience
in effectively utilizing Lean and Six Sigma problem solving tools
and techniques.
Extensive experience in the specification, design and development
of A/V, KVM, IoT, and other related communication & visualization
products.
Ability to interpret standards, requirements, specifications,
procedures, drawings, etc.
Excellent product vision and effective product planning skills in
managing full life cycle development projects, and end to end
product development processes leveraging both classical phase-gate
and agile processes.
Ability to demonstrate flexible and efficient time management and
to appropriately prioritize workload based upon organization
requirements.
