DescriptionDIRECTOR OF CORPORATE RELATIONS
Required Qualifications:
- Progressive experience in corporate and foundation
philanthropy, business development and/or sales
experience.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; proficiency
in Microsoft Office programs; experience in use of DonorPerfect or
other relational databases preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships and
alliances with internal and external constituencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5-7 years corporate giving experience.
- Demonstrate ability to move donor up in giving level.
- Previous work with some of our key partners: AT&T, Boeing,
TI, Ericsson, McKesson, etc.
- Knowledge of/connections to corporate social responsibility
contacts.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Corporate Relations is responsible for establishing
new and strengthening existing revenue-generating partnerships
within the business and corporate communities in Northeast Texas.
Working closely with the Chief Development Officer and the Fund
Development team, the Director of Corporate Relations will
conceptualize, plan, and execute a corporate relations strategy
that maximizes corporate sponsorship and philanthropic support for
GSNETX that is reflective of program needs and capacity and
consistent with GSNETX's mission and program vision; create
compelling and accurate proposals, reports and correspondence; and
ensure that the terms of sponsorship or funding agreements are
fulfilled. The position will collaborate with fund development
staff and with other departments to identify, cultivate, solicit,
and steward corporate prospects, while maintaining a select
portfolio of corporate prospects and donors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list may not include all of the duties
assigned):
- Directs all aspects of GSNETX's corporate relations
program.
- Develops and implements strategies for multi-faceted engagement
of corporate donors through grants, event sponsorship,
volunteering, cause-related marketing, and strategic
philanthropy.
- Responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding
sponsorships, grants and general donations from
corporations.
- Works closely with other fund development staff to implement
strategies for multi-faceted engagement of corporate
donors.
- Researches corporate social responsibility programs to ensure
that efforts are informed, strategic and aligned with current
trends in corporate giving.
- Works with senior leadership, Board and other volunteers on
prospect development and the solicitation/cultivation of corporate
prospects.
- Serves as an effective member of the GSNETX fund development
team.
- Demonstrates and promotes a climate of courtesy, respect and
professionalism to coworkers, the volunteers served by this
council, and others with whom her/his job puts her/him in
contact.
- Represents GSNETX at special events in the community, as
needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
OTHER:
- Must be able to travel within established geographic areas and
council service centers, as necessary.
- Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid drivers'
license and meet GSNETX driving record & automobile insurance
requirements.

QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required with 5-7 years of progressive
experience in corporate and foundation philanthropy, business
development and/or sales experience.
- Proven ability to expand and strengthen partnerships with
Corporations.
- Entrepreneurial, comprehensive, and prospect-driven approach to
corporate relations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships and
alliances with internal and external constituencies.
- Demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment where
multi-tasking and priority-setting abilities are critical to
success.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills; proficiency
in Microsoft Office programs; experience in use of DonorPerfect or
other relational databases preferred.
- Self-motivation and discipline to regularly set and achieve
work goals.
- Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, respect and
professionalism to coworkers, the volunteers served by this
council, and others with whom her/his job puts her/him in
contact.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and
weekends.
