Ensure integrity of perpetual inventory for stores and distribution centers. Represent the accounting department on cross-functional projects and initiatives. Provide accounting expertise for physical inventory related items while maintaining compliance with internal accounting controls, established controls and reporting requirements. Ensure accuracy of financial statements and reporting pertaining to inventory and shrink.Major Activities

  • Manage the accounting, analysis, and reporting of physical inventory activities including store level reconciliations, shrink, and shrink reserves. Partner with Loss Prevention and Store Operations on the development and updating of store instructions and standard operating procedures pertaining to physical inventories and perpetual inventory.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of perpetual inventory, research issues and manage corrections as needed. Work with key business partners to research questions and resolve issues related to inventory and shrink.
  • Represent the accounting department on cross functional projects and initiatives, including various project related tasks such as requirements gathering and performing testing, as well as accounting related tasks such as preparation and/or review of technical position papers and related research activities.
  • Responsible for ensuring integrity of financial statements and reporting pertaining to inventory and shrink. Ensure that all monthly journal entries are recorded timely and in compliance with all procedures and controls. Ensure that balance sheet accounts are complete and accurately stated in accordance with GAAP, properly reconciled and reviewed according to departmental standards and established deadlines. Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audits. Ensure internal controls are evaluated and updated on a timely basis and followed as appropriate.
  • Responsible for managing, motivating, and developing team to ensure associate engagement and continued growth of associates. Other ad hoc duties as needed.
    -Minimum Education
    • Bachelor's Degree -Minimum Special Certifications or technical skills
      • Strong knowledge of financial statements, internal controls, SOX, GAAPMinimum Type of experience the job requires
        • Minimum 6 years of experience in Accounting -Preferred Education
          • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Accounting or FinancePreferred Type of experience the job requires
            • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience preferred -
            • Retail, manufacturing or distribution experience preferred
            • Physical inventory experience preferred
