    POSITION PURPOSE:

    The Manager, Sourcing develops and implements cost effective strategies for the supply chain organization used in the business, to include policies and procedures for inventory control and inbound movement of product. Ensures all Briggs Industrial Solutions standards are adhered to and executed consistent with company direction.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Proactively advise company leadership on Supply Chain related functions as part of the overall company strategy
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages
  • Monitor companywide procurement spend and procedural compliance to increase productivity and drive efficiencies
  • Develop and maintain reporting practices and processes related to inventory stratification and management
  • Ensure timely and accurate receipt and loading of supplier price files
  • Engage with area and local leadership to establish inventory stocking targets, ensure transfer of slow-moving items, and coordinate slow-moving returns with suppliers
  • Conduct cost analysis and benchmark setting for continuous improvement
  • Partner with corporate and/or branch leadership to ensure Internal Audit financial controls are exceeded and/or met
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

    minimum qualifications

    Basic Knowledge & Competencies:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent negotiation skills and review of contracts
    • Excellent time management skills to include prioritization of tasks, communication, and execution to meet established deadlines
    • Excellent customer service, people development and multi-tasking skills
    • Strong financial acumen, including capital buying process, cognitive skills, problem analysis, decision-making and quantitative analysis
    • Demonstrated ability to assess buying patterns and adjust focus accordingly
    • Ability to work with multiple users at all levels of the organization
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel

      Previous Experience/Education:
      • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management, purchasing management or related field required
      • 5+ years' experience in leading and directing team members preferred
      • 3+ years' experience in roles with increasing responsibility preferred
      • 3+ years' experience in vendor / supplier management, bidding projects and sourcing negotiation
      • Certification in supply chain / purchasing / procurement preferred
      • Analytical decision making preferred

        PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
        • Working conditions are normal for an office environment
        • Standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and bending on a frequent basis
        • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
        • Up to 25% travel required
