-ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATIONDallas Risk Management (DRM) is a
Managing General Underwriter, or MGU, for health insurance
policies. With a team of top industry experts that have been
carefully selected by the CEO, Dallas Risk Management provides
services that are tailored to address the risks involved during the

ensure superior results. -Position SummaryThe Director of
Underwriting will lead the underwriting team and will be
responsible for developing and implementing underwriting
strategies, managing the underwriting process, and collaborating
with other departments to achieve the company's goals. This role is
crucial in assessing and managing risk for our clients, ensuring
that we provide accurate and competitive insurance solutions.
-Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but
are not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement underwriting policies, procedures, and
guidelines.
- Lead and manage the underwriting team, providing guidance,
training, and performance evaluations.
- Assess and analyze risks to determine the appropriate level of
coverage and premiums.
- Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and finance departments to
ensure comprehensive risk assessment.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of industry trends, regulations,
and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and
company policies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers,
clients, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the underwriting process, ensuring efficiency and
accuracy.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on
underwriting performance and market conditions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the
underwriting department.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with
insurance companies providing stop loss policies, ensuring
successful annual audits and ongoing collaboration with
underwriting departments of these carriers.
- Expand and cultivate relationships with outside brokers and
agents, supporting sales and business development efforts beyond
the accounts managed by Assured Benefit Administrators.Other job
duties include, but are not limited to the following:

QualificationsEducation and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related
field.
- Professional designation (e.g., CPCU, ARM) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of underwriting experience in the insurance
industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles, practices, and
regulations.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office
Suite.
- Licensed to underwrite in the states we serve, with a producer
health and accident license in at least one state; with the ability
to obtain licenses in additional states as required.
- Required completion of pre-licensing education courses that
cover insurance laws, ethics, and specific types of insurance
policies.
- Advanced degrees or specific coursework in insurance and risk
