Position Description:

Builds and maintains platform products to enable the migration of applications from on-premises to Cloud, using Amazon Web Services (AWS)-- Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Postgres (Relational Database Service (RDS), Elastic File System (EFS), Lamba, and Simple Notification Service. Executes deliverables for technical and business partners using modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methods -- GIT, Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps -- and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Manages an Agile team responsible for building Cloud platform solutions and tools using Cloud Native Solutions (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Cloud Watch, Datadog, and Splunk). Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted Cloud applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.

Develops Information Technology (IT) processes and procedures.

Develops, creates, and modifies Cloud applications, software, or specialized utility programs.

Modifies existing software to correct errors, allowing it to adapt to new hardware, and to improve performance.

Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.

Stores, retrieves, and manipulates data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.

Designs, develops, and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.

Develops and directs software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

Delivers solutions to other development squads who deliver value to customers and understanding how to support them.

Develops a point of view on new and emerging trends to advance solutions that result in efficiencies and shorter time to market.

Consults on the development delivery of major technology initiatives of the business unit.

Consults on the deployment of major project deliverables.

Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or company Cloud components.

Sets vision, goals, and direction of the team/organization.

Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.

Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.

Works across groups to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives.

Provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of experience designing and developing highly secured, resilient, and available platform engineering cloud native products.

Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience designing and developing highly secured, resilient, and available platform engineering cloud native products.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (DE) building data products to accelerate the migration of data applications from on-premise to cloud using Amazon Web Services (AWS), Python, Java, Lambda, Teradata, Redshift, Snowflake, S3, EC2, and Elastic Map Reduce (EMR) in a financial services environment; building configuration based Teradata extract processes; encrypting and publishing data to S3 using AWS Customer Managed Key; building Snowflake loader module-- Java based framework-- using AWS S3 and EC2; and migrating data from Teradata to Snowflake databases and deploying Cloud compliant applications to AWS services -- EC2, Relational Database Service (RDS), and Identity and Access Management (IAM).

DE creating and managing Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters; creating Azure traffic manager as Domain Name System (DNS) based traffic load balancer; designing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes to deploy applications into the AKS cluster; orchestrating DevOps processes using Spinnaker and Jenkins in AKS; building highly-available databases using global distribution feature-- Azure cosmosDB-- using terraform scripts and Jenkins pipelines; building database CI/CD pipelines using Flyway (Open Source) for Postgres databases; and deploying ambassador (open source) to manage ingress of the AKS cluster using Helm charts in Spinnaker.

DE architecting logging frameworks using open source stack Elasticsearch-Fluent bit-Kibana (EFK); managing and deploying EFK stack in AKS cluster using helm charts; building integrated logging with customer segmentation and application logs to troubleshoot the application; building a persistence layer of data lake-- segment, application, Azure service, and audit logs-- on Azure blob storage; and creating Kibana dashboards with visualizations of product usage to demonstrate the effectiveness of mobile applications.

DE provisioning Cloud infrastructure components using EMR, EC2, RDS, and Elastic Load Balancer (ELB) setup -- for data analysis, reporting, migration details, and consumption on Cloud, using AWS, AWS Lambda serverless computing, and Cloud formation; integrating CI/CD pipeline processes, using Jenkins; and integrating Cloud frameworks -- using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud Config -- into design solutions.
