leadership roles.JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Pharmacist-in-Charge,
the Specialty Pharmacy Clerk is responsible supporting the
specialty retail pharmacy's operations by delivering exceptional
customer service to patients and customers (both internal and
external) at UT Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center's at the
Specialty Retail Pharmacy. The specialty pharmacy clerk's job
duties include:Providing customer service for the pharmacy's
customers (internal & external) over the phone and at the counter
including operating the pharmacy's cash register;Hand-delivering
prescriptions to patient's upon their discharge from UTSW's
hospital. This position must be able to walk - both inside and
outside between UTSW's campus buildings - each shift to make these
deliveries.Coordination and organization for the specialty
pharmacy's shipping area and the shipping process for cold chain
and others;Clerical duties such as Filing paperwork and performing
light cleaning;And other duties as assigned.The specialty pharmacy
clerk is full-time (40-hours per week) and benefit-eligible with
shifts scheduled weekdays (Monday through Friday) 8:30 AM to 5:00
PM at UTSW's Specialty Retail Pharmacy located inside the Paul M.
Bass Administrative and Clinical Center (6363 Forest Park Road
Dallas, Texas 75390) on the main campus in Dallas.UTSW is proud to

EDUCATIONPreferred experience includes:Prior work experience
working within a retail pharmacy setting ORPrior work experience
withdirectly helping customers with printing and shipping/packing
services.High School (HS) diploma or equivalent is required.Must
have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from a course
accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American
Red Cross (ACR). May apply without BLS certification but will be
required obtain approved BLS certification prior to extension of
offer. Information on how to obtain BLS certification will be
provided.This position must be able to walk regularly - both inside
and outside between UTSW's campus buildings - each shift to
delivery patient's prescriptions.Must be able to communicate
clearly with a varied of diverse customers and have a strong
working knowledge of computer systems.JOB DUTIESSets up cash
register. Receives cash till, counts operating cash, and places in
register.Operates register during pharmacy hours: rings up total
charges, explains charges as requested, and makes change.Delivers
prescriptions to patient rooms, patient bedside or where other
deliver locations are determined.Maintains required records and
statistics, particularly those involved in cashiering such as
register tapes, patient insurance logs, credit card logs,
etc.Operates multiline telephone, answers all calls promptly, quick
resolutions, records and triages calls in a timely manner.Types
departmental correspondence efficiently and accurately. Maintains
organized patient medical records. Keeps filing up to date.Reports
defective equipment/supplies, cashiering problems, and unusual
conditions to supervisor. Alerts supervisor immediately of any
prescription discrepancies.Attends in-service meetings and other
required training and meetings as directed.Assumes accountability
for all actions in the workplace. Utilizes downtime to assist
others and/or to provide excellent service to patients and/or
families. Organizes prescriptions and provides deliveries
efficiently and quickly.Effective patient/family advocate. Responds
to patients' and/or patients family's complaints in an appropriate
& effective manner. Reports complaints to the Manager or their
designee in a timely manner. Utilizes the chain of command
appropriately to resolve patient, operational, or personal work
related problems.Participates in performance improvement activities
as directed. Attends at least 80% of scheduled staff meetings and
attends 100% of mandatory educational sessions.Performs other
