Then our Flexible LVN position might be right for you!! CorrHealth is seeking LVNs in Texas who are available for full-time work (min 36 hours) at flexible locations within TX on a permanent basis. This is not a temporary travel role. You will be scheduled, as needed, on a FT basis between all of our TX sites. Flexible availability required both day/night. Must reside in Texas, within 300 miles of 1 of the following counties: Brenham (Washington), Jefferson (Beaumont), Comal (New Braunfels), Midland (Midland).*dependent on locationPosition OverviewA Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse is responsible for assisting in the delivery of inmate care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Under the supervision of the RN(s), directs and guides inmate teaching and activities that commensurate with his/her education and demonstrated competencies.Essential Job DutiesUnder supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists in the assessment of the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of inmates in the Health Care Unit and, as necessary, in the housing unitsAssists in planning and implementing individual treatment programs, using available knowledge, diagnostic tests, resources, and consults with RNs and other staff as appropriate while applying knowledge and resources in planning care and inmate teachingAdministers medications according to proper techniques and procedures, including IV therapy (when certified), and all other approved routes of administrationAssists the provider in evaluations, medical procedures, and minor surgical procedures as necessary, using SOAP form of chartingObtains body fluid specimens and performs EKGs using proper techniques and proceduresMaintains and documents controlled substances and medical equipmentIntervenes in a variety of situations with proper safety techniques, procedures, and standard precautionsImplements nutrition and therapeutic diet plans through proper techniques and procedures as ordered by providerTriaging and assessing healthcare requestsMinimum Educational/Experience RequirementsGraduate from an accredited LPN/LVN programHave and maintain current licensure as a LPN/LVN within the state of employmentMust be able to obtain and maintain CPR certificationPrior experience in correctional or jail setting is preferredAdditional DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Employees are exposed to some level of riskand/or harm by inmates including exposure to blood borne pathogens. Employee is expected towork in accordance with all security rules and regulations to minimize the risk of danger and/orharm to themselves or other employees.OtherEmployee must comply with all current and future State, Federal, and Local laws and regulations, court orders, Administrative Directives and standards and policies and procedures of the site where assigned, including those of professional organizations such as ACA, NCCHC, etc. Employee must treat every other member of the CorrHealth team, all correctional personnel, all inmates and third parties in the facility with the proper dignity and respect.
