Job Description:
The UT Southwestern Medical Center Department of Psychiatry is
seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our clinical
faculty and serve on our clinical team within the Med/Psych
Specialty Clinic. The primary role and responsibility will be the
initial development and implementation of an outpatient specialty
clinical service dedicated to pediatric behavioral health patients
with complex co-morbid medical problems. Along with providing
direct patient care to this specialty population, this position is
also responsible for supervision of trainees from various
specialties. Candidates must have an M.D. or D.O., be board
eligible or board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and
have or be able to obtain a Texas Medical License. Additional
specialty training such as a Triple Board Fellowship or Post
Pediatric Portal Fellowship is strongly preferred. The ideal
candidate's background includes direct patient care experience with
assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with complex
medical and behavioral health needs. Candidate must be able to
provide supervision and teaching of child and adolescent psychiatry
fellows, general psychiatry residents, triple board residents,
medical students, and other allied health students. Consideration
may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments
and experience. This position is security-sensitive and subject to
Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to
obtain criminal history record information. Compliance with the
