Dallas Medical Center is a 155-bed acute care hospital accredited

RN, Registered Nurse (Float Pool) - Job Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe
patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning,
implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within
the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides
patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel
while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical
Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable
for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She
communicates with physician about changes in the patient's clinical
condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic
studies and symptomatology. Can respond quickly and accurately to
changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
DUTIES:
* Quickly and accurately assess patient care needs
* Work collaboratively with doctors and staff to provide
exceptional care
* Perform all requested diagnostic tests
* Diagnose and develop treatment plans collaboratively with doctors
and staff
* Manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritizing needs
continually
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts
* Work at maximum efficiency without compromising quality of
care
* Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under
pressure
* Provide follow up care instructions to patients and make
necessary referrals
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts
* Comply with all legal and safety requirements at all times
* Attend all required training and continuing education events
* Abide by all hospital rules and regulations
* Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment

Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
Current and valid state RN License. Current BLS (AHA) certificate
upon hire and maintain current. Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30
days upon hire and maintain current preferred. Previous Acute Care
hospital experience preferred. Ventilator Management experience
preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
