  The Bilingual Speech Pathologist will provide in-patient, out-patient, and/or neighborhood clinic services, focusing on functional skills to enhance development, restore function and to prevent disability from pediatric conditions, illness and injury with English and Spanish proficiency.
  The position will also include patient and caregiver education and training, direct consultation and collaboration with physicians, nurses, other professionals, clinics and agencies, both within Cook Children's Health Care System and within the community.
  Qualifications:
  
  • 
    
  • Master's degree required in speech/language pathology, communication disorders, or related
    
  • Pediatric experience preferred
    
  • Understands broad cultural aspects of native Spanish speaking families; ability to relate to diverse cultural and ethnic population
    
  • Must meet Spanish proficiency levels defined by Cook Children's Health Care System and measured by objective and nationally recognized oral language, reading and writing tests
    
  • CPR - BLS within 30 days of employment
    
  • State license or eligible for state licensure
    
  • Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology, or eligible for application upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year and must be obtained within 12 months of hire
