Job Description Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities. UT Tyler School of Medicine is seeking a Full Time Trauma Physician to join the fast growing family of UT Health East Texas hospitals and clinics. About the Position: - Level 1 Trauma Center - Join a group consisting of five trauma/critical care surgeons with plans to expand to 6–7. - Call shifts for Trauma (includes coverage of the Trauma ICU) 8-9, primary in house 12 h shifts per month and 8-9, 12h secondary (backup) trauma call shifts from home. - Call for Emergency Gen Surgery is required and are separate, 2-3, 24 hr shifts per month - Both services are resident staffed and there is also 24/7 midlevel coverage for the trauma service/trauma ICU. About UT Tyler School of Medicine: The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas. The school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia.
