Pay Information $1,621 per week About The Position Job Title: RN Ped Oncology Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Valid RN License in Texas Certifications: BLS, PALS, Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification Must-Have: - APHON/ONCC Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - PALS Certification Description: This position is for a travel RN specializing in Pediatric Oncology. The unit comprises 12 beds and is staffed by approximately 24 professionals. Day shift staffing usually includes one Charge Nurse and 3-5 RNs, depending on patient acuity. Night shift also comprises one Charge Nurse and 3-5 RNs as needed. Patient ratios are typically 2-3:1 based on the acuity of the patient population. The unit utilizes EMR through Meditech for patient records. Key responsibilities include the administration of chemotherapy, bone marrow aspirates/biopsies, and lumbar punctures with and without chemotherapy administration. The best fit for this role will be someone with the required certifications and the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment. This role does not involve weekend shifts or on-call duties. Candidates will float to the Pediatric Medical/Surgical floor, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit as necessary.
